This cable has connectors that are narrow enough so that they do not prevent plugging other cables into adjacent Firewire ports. Prior to getting this cable, I was using a Firewire 400 (6-pin) cable with a Firewire 400/800 adapter (i.e., 6-pin/9-pin), but the adapter was just wide enough to block the adjacent Firewire 800 ports.This cable is well constructed, perhaps not as robustly as other cables, and it works very well.

I was delighted to find this great firewire cable, as I found my original iPod that charges with a firewire cable (which has been long lost). As the iPod is almost 20 years old, it is awesome to listen to some of my original songs!

StarTech.com - Cable FireWire (Gris): funcionamiento correcto, usado para conectar interfaz de audio y grabar sonido por pistas, así que lo que se puede esperar de un cable, que haga su función. Dejaré a los puristas que se gasten una pasta en cables de medio sueldo, a mi este me sirve para casa y soy feliz...

I was impressed with the quality and guarantee on this cable vs a previous cable i purchased on amazon which crashed my computer repeatedly. I have confidence in the quality of this cable and will look up startech for future data cable needs.

What is there to say about a firewire cable? Not much i guess.But this is yes another good cable from startech, it was cheap price wise, but the durability of this cord is better than i've seen from anyone else. I used this cord for connecting to my presonus live studio mixer to my computer, so it gets carried around with me everywhere. After several weeks of use, the connection is still rock solid and i havnt had a single issue with this cable at all! The cord is of a nice heavy gauge of wire so it does not feel flimsy at all. That being said it is a little stiff, but not anything that causes any problems.I'll update the review with a durability report in the future!

this handy connector came to the rescue when i needed to plug my firewire 400 devices into a Macbook Pro which is only equipped with firewire 800 - marvellous
