I watched a YouTube video on how to set this up. I think it took about 45 minutes for me to set up everything. I also bought a mobile kit so that I can use my phone to start my car. There is a 15 minute timer for how long your car will be running. Also, the safety feature, when I open my door, the car shuts off so that people can’t take your car if they get access.

Product work well installing was easy.The video and demo was poor but with a Little know how and follow the word diagram it can be done in 15 min

Easy to install! Works perfect! And I had an issue with programming and called customer support. Had the issue resolved. Turns out when you are programming the system there’s a step that needs to be a longer pause.-When you have everything connected and you are at the step to push the start button twice, wait for 30 seconds before you press it a third time(turn off the car).

I watched the installation video before starting and used the instructions that came with the product. Took about 30 minutes to complete the installation and the remote start worked immediately as designed. Extremely well crafted product. I highly recommend this product. Wish I had known about it sooner

....as I type this I'm waiting for my 4th EMAIL from support. Why they don't have telephone support for an electronic purchases is beyond me....The install was easy enough, basically plug and play. After installing, I pushed the lock button on the factory remote 3 times and the flashers blinked but the hybrid never got to ready mode. A bunch of warning lights, check engine, brake, ABS, traction control all lit, but the car was not running.So I looked for a support number but the ONLY way to contact them was through Email.My first email was replied with an automated response asking for most of what I had already provided, car make, etc.I replied with the information requested (dash photo and module number) and was told to "check the connections". Well, I had already done that a few times but unscrewed my dash and double checked everything again.Then I was asked for a photo of the dash lights (I was told the picture wasn't clear) and a photo of the connections...As I type this I'm awaiting for another email from Start-X, probably looking for another picture of something.Th longer I waited, the less patient I got. I unclipped my totally secure connections and disconnected the device. The Amazon return has begun.Sorry Start-X, but when ever someone is under their dash looking for guidance, you should probably offer live support. Have you ever used Crutchfield? They could write the book on live support.I really wanted this device to work as advertised, such high hopes, but such slow responses forced my hand.Good Luck.

For what it is, it's great value. Completely plug and play, meaning you cut/splice zero wires unlike other kits. The YouTube video does a great job showing you exactly how to set it up. I have a 2017 rav4 hybrid and it took me 13 min to get to a point where I could test it out. I have a decent degree of hands on experience with vehicle repair but if you are handy it shouldn't be a problem. The picture doesn't show but it does come with its own module, which is easy to program.It has a connector in the harness for add-on accessories so I also purchased the carlink kit which gives it the ability to be controlled through an app on your smartphone and it works perfectly. I can remote start and lock/unlock my car from anywhere (as long as I'm parked in an area with cell phone signal, which I can't imagine will ever not be the case)One thing to be aware of is the single hybrid wire that runs from the driver side to behind the glove box seems delicate. Makes sure its not snagged on anything when routing it (there are some things that stick out under the steering column that can easily cause damage to it, not to mention your hands and the rest of the harness, so use caution). Make sure to also properly secure that wire and the rest of the harness so that it does not chafe while driving or it can eventually cause electrical shorts.Overall, if you're looking for a relatively cheap way to add remote start functionality with your oem smart key for your 2016-2018 rav4 hybrid, this is for you (if it's in stock)

J’ai acheté le premier et ça bien marche par contre le deuxième a été incompatible avec la rav4 hybride même si est mentionné dans le carton c’est pour la rav4 hybride 2016-2018

I got this not knowing how hard it would be to install. I opened the box watched the video via QR code and got it installed in 20 mins. Longest part was trying to fish the hybrid cable across the back of dash without taking that all out. I really thing my 10year old could of installed this if I let him. No more waking to car in morning to pre start it when I can do it from inside of house.
