The exotic, smokey flavors in this loose leaf black tea are especially bold. First the fresh picked tea leaves are withered over cypress or pine wood. Then after the rolling process they get even more flavor from being aged in wood barrels. The last step in the careful process of creating this tea is to smoke the leaves again over a pine fire. Sit back and savor each sip and the deep nuances in this exciting tea.Ingredients: Black Tea.Contains Caffeine.Brewing Instructions: 8 oz water | 190-210° f | 3-5 min. Each Package Contains: 1 lb loose leaf tea (makes 180-200 cups depending on desired strength).

Many different brands of Earl Grey are available. My test is to stick my nose in the bag and breathe deeply but not while guests are watching. This one passes the inhalation excitation test.

This order of Lapsang has none of the smoky notes or distinctive flavours of Lapsang Souchong. It has the flavour and scent of a Pekoe or Oolong; as though a label had been been placed on the wrong bag. It isn't bad tea, but it isn't Lapsang Souchong.

One of my favorite tea s. Earl Grey with a floral twist (lavender). Buying loose leaf is exponentially better than buying that dust in a tea bag. The savings from bulk tea purchases is incredible.

Our favorite tea. The flavor is wonderful and bergamot really comes through even with a second steeping.

I don't taste much peach, but the black tea is good quality

Poor quality tea, lack of packed date only use by so who knows how old it is, weak tea strength, flat and stale. Bergamot has no high notes and leaves an oily coating in your mouth. Unpleasant after taste and feel, possibly the Bergamot oil is nearly off or not food grade as the aroma in the bag is pungent and almost non existant on brewing. Never been so disappointed, totally unacceptable for a supposedly premium quality tea, total waste of money. Do not buy Stash Earl Grey, Twinnings, Dilmah and Madura are far superior quality products. Recently bought Red Leaf Earl Grey which was a good strong tea perfectly balanced with Bergamot. Melbourne company, quality fresh tea, should have stayed with that but was lured by the price for 454 grams of the Stash price. Expensive mistake the tea is not drinkable.

[yet another update]Fer the last time! ...this is about Stash Gunpowder, ASIN B006E9PPCE.This is embarrassing... but continuing to drink this tea, and researching the bit about "smoky" gunpowder tea, turns out it is a common, normal thing... just something we didn't know about. And in that light - despite being so startled the first time - we'll give it its due, for those who favor smoky. However, comparing it once again (see below) head-to-head with the Absolutely Tea non-smoky gunpowder, we ourselves will stick to that, the non-smoky.5 stars... enjoy!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[update]Once again, this is about Stash Gunpowder, ASIN B006E9PPCE.Let's see here... in several days now, we have indeed gotten used to it - somewhat! - have made our peace with it, and we'll drink it to the bitter end! :-) We won't buy it again. In retrospect, the problem was the shock of expecting "green tea" and getting "smoky" tea. (As we noted in the first round, "smoky" is on the label as displayed... but it is not in the text description (at least *was* not, in case you read this and it has changed), and we missed it on the label.)Still, however, brown not "green", in-your-face not "distant" or "subtle"...Three stars... enjoy!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~This is about Stash Gunpowder, ASIN B006E9PPCE.First of all, we should say that we don't know what star rating to put on it - the one star is ours, but others might actually go for it, who knows?!Commenting here on our first cup - might we get used to it? - but right now, the question is whether we will continue to use it at all...(1) No mention is made in the Amazon blurb about what is on the label of the package we received, which speaks of the "lingering subtle, smokey note". Not being tea connoisseurs, we won't pretend to be such - but "subtle"?! - no, we beg to differ, it is very much not subtle, but rather "in your face". Not only that, but...(2) ...the "brewing instructions" on the back of the package say "use one level teaspoon of loose tea per cup", and "brew 3-5 minutes". We used considerable less than that, a slightly rounded 1/2 tsp (about 2/3 tsp, by repeated measurement), and about 2 minutes - with the strong result as noted in (1).(3) The label on our package has rather different text from the label shown on Amazon, the latter of which says (at least at this moment) "light body and a distant smoky, spicy flavor" - about which, see (1) - "light"? "distant"??? ...not!...(4) The online blurb also says "dark green", about which we also beg to differ - what we received today, brewed as we said above, resulted in a rather dark brown color, very clear, yes, but not very attractive, in our opinion, as compared with other green tea products.(5) In the same Amazon order - and trying at the same time, side by side - we bought the similarly described Positively Tea product ASIN B00SRTD2SI. (The Stash Gunpowder, dry, looks a bit prettier!) We found the Pos Tea to be... green tea! ...flavor good, and pretty much as expected from other "green tea" experience, including from Stash itself, their Green Tea product ASIN B006LXKK46! (That, however, as other reviewers have noted, and we agree, is not very attractive in its physical form, some commenting "only dust", whereas ours just had "a lot of dust".)Your mileage may vary! :-)
