Works like a CHARM, I used to change out recessed can lights in my 25ft ceiling only had one bulb fall off and that was on me for not putting it on correctly. Definitely way safer and easier than climbing a dangerous extension ladder. Would buy again

I ordered this so that I won't have to climb a ladder to reach change bulbs in the high ceilings of our house. It arrived without instructions, so I am glad that I watched a couple of videos before purchasing. It was easy to assemble.Removing a light bulb was a snap, but putting one back not quite so easy. The first one dropped out of the holder and fell to floor, fortunately missing me. The LED bulb broke but did not shatter, also fortunately!I am watching the how-to videos again to see what went wrong. This is why I am only giving it four stars. Wish that more instructions came with this device. Will update to five stars if the fault was mine.

I have purchased a few of these suction bulb changers and this is the first one that actually works as described. I had no problems changing the recessed lighting in my vaulted ceilings.

Works well for smooth bulbs but not so much on textured spotlight bulbs.

This and the Stauber bulb changers are the 2 best items I've ever purchased for home maintenance. Without this, we would probably have to pay $300 every time we need the bulb changed, if its even worth anyone's time. Our ceiling is unusually high and the bulb is right in the middle so I don't know how any ladder could even sit anywhere to reach it safely. I purchased this 2 years ago and took it out the other day to catch some birds that flew into the garage. Without this, there's no way we could've chased the birds out. Birds nets are too short. This pole is a life saver. The adjustability aspect made it perfect for the task. Even if you don't need to change bulbs...have one on hand because you never know.

It worked! Got it straight out of the bag and put it together. So easy. I put off buying one of these for 6 years…. All the ones I would see had mixed reviews. My husband couldn’t change this bulb safely by standing on the top of a 6 ft ladder. So I looked at reviews again and purchased the large bulb suction pole green 9 ft changer. And I did it myself! Less than 5 minutes from taking it out of the wrapper and cleaning the bulb off with the sock it includes. Then I put a little spit (gross, I know) on the suction and stuck it to the bulb on the ceiling, twisted, brought the pole down and let it telescope in on itself, took the bulb off and then attached a new bulb, telescoped it back up, screwed it in, pulled the cord and the suction popped right off the bulb! Bam! Done. Definitely worth the price. It’s stored in the hall closet now.

I’m a 74 year old woman and I didn’t want to bother my neighbours to bring a high ladder up the stairs to reach a high ceiling to change a light bulb. I found this gadget and it was perfect. I screwed it on an existing extendable pole I had then I used the little white cover first to clean the bulb as they instructed. Then I attached the clip with the string for pulling down the suction cup and raised the pole and pushed gently on the bulb and turned it (Had to say to myself - righty tighty- lefty lucy so I could remember which way to screw it) to unscrew it and pulled gently and brought the pole down. Then I pushed the new bulb on the suction cup and raised the bulb to the socket.. Only took a few turns. Just pulled gently on the string to release the suction cup and voila it is in and working perfectly now. So easy anyone can do it.

I have a 14’ ceiling in my kitchen and no ladder that I had would reach up to the ceiling to change the pot-lights so I thought that I could use this option. Sadly they didn’t mention that it doesn’t work with all types of pot-lights so I had to return it. I guess most updated pot-lights have a rim that needs to be removed before the lightbulb can be replaced. As a result, this type of device doesn’t do the trick. The extension pole was way more expensive than it should have been in my opinion and to make it worse, I had to pay an extra, non-refundable customs charge. An expensive mistake, hope this helps you avoid making the same one I did. Make sure you know if this device will work on your specific pot-lights before purchasing!

I noted another review mention problems with the suction not really working, but took a chance anyway as most other reviews were positive. I've experienced the same issue, it just doesn't grip the bulb so removing bulbs at a height is precarious as you have to carefully balance them on top as you lower them.I even tryied placing different GU10 bulbs right in the middle by hand, but none grabbed.

Worked perfectly. I bough the changer to change an indoor flood light bulb about 10 feet over a stairwell railing.Note: Be sure to use the cleaning pad first on both bulbs (the old and new). I took a damp paper towel and wetted the suction cup prior to using it. I tried the new bulb in the suction cup at the floor level, it was very strong. Excellent product!

I have 14 foot ceilings and for the last few years would wait until I had several bulbs out, and then Id hire a handyman to bring a ladder and change them. Well after covid its hard to find a handyman, so I noticed this bulb changer and figured Id give it a go since trying this at $60 is better than paying for a $300 handyman. I bought CREE 2700K LED BULBS and when my Stauber pole arrived I was ready to roll. I discovered most of my bulbs were old fashioned glass incandescent flood light bulbs so the new energy efficient LED bulbs made the old ones look terrible so this was now a bulb replacement mission. I bought 4 more cases of CREE LED bulbs and turned this into a project. The Stauber pole works PERFECTLY. The little terry cloth shower cap fits over the suction cup to clean the dust from the bulb, I even sprayed with a bit of Windex for even better squeaky clean. Got good contact with suction cup and then turned. Carefully lowered the bulbs because they were GLASS. I made a landing pad with a folded blanket and a pillow to release the bulbs to. The little wire release works well too!!! Put the new CREE plastic LED bulb on the suction cup, extended the Stauber pole and screwed in the bulb. Now do that 80 times, lol. A VERY HAPPY AND SATISFYING HOME PROJECT even though it was not intended to be. I cant imagine any other pole working BETTER than this one. Its fantastic. No more handyman bulb changing!!! The key is to BUY THE CORRECT SIZED POLE WITH THE CHANGER SO YOU DONT HAVE TO FUSS WITH FINDING ONE. ITS WORTH IT.

I would recommend this light bulb changer to any one of my friends or family. It worked far better than I thought it would. I just used it to replace 4 BR30 floodlights on a 20 foot high ceiling with can lights. I changed all 4 bulbs in less time than it would have taken me just to move my big step ladder into that room like I used to when changing those bulbs by hand. I'm impressed. This thing is simple and it works.I didn't buy the extension pole because I already have 3 extension poles all with different size threads. This device actually fit my biggest pole threads perfectly. However, it also works on my other two extension poles because there is a thumb screw that holds it on the extension pole threads no matter what size the threads are so it can easily be used with any pole.It comes with a cleaning cloth that you can put over the suction cup in case you need to clean the bulb to get the suction cup to stick to it. Two of the bulbs I replaced were 11 years old and this thing stuck to them great with no cleaning necessary. I'm not sure I would ever need to use the cleaning cloth but it's there if needed. There is a string that clips on the edge of the suction cup that you can pull on to get the suction cup to release. The string is easily long enough for my 20 foot ceiling with extra string to spare. It even comes with a sting holder that you can roll up the string on and secure it with a Velcro tie they give you so the sting doesn't get tangled between uses.I don't know how this compares to their competition but I do know that it's simple, it works great, and the cost is better than anything I could get in the local hardware and home stores.
