There was nothing wrong they just were not right for the bed I had. They were returned.

These rails are flimsy and once I tried to get on the bed it collapsed. It is a miracle I did not injure myself. They send 4 coat hanger type wires and two are too long and two are too short and they do no good at all. Save your time, energy, and money and buy something else.

I've been searching for this kind of bed rail and yes its $10 more than Walmart (Walmart was out of stock) but they arrived in less than a week and I set it up by myself without my boyfriends help. They were boxed so they arrived in perfect condition... I would definitely purchase again if I ever needed another set.And yes the 2 metal pieces crisscross to fit.

We have an old full size hook rail bed on wnich our inlaws had used a queen bedrail conversion. We needed a regular full size and found this. It was delivered in two days! No problem with shipping damage. The rails hooked on easily; I also added one 1.5 inch number 12 stainless screw on each post. (You could use two on each.) Our bed was too wide, 55", for the boxspring to sit on the rails so I cut and painted 5 cross rails from 1 by 4 by 6 foot pine boards. At Home Depot these cost about $25. I fixed them to the rails with 1.5 inch flat head bolts with nuts and lockwashers. I'll recycle the two heavy duty wires that were supplied which were of little use. The bed seems very solid with the mattress and box spring on it. You must affix the cross boards with bolts in a case like mine. I say this because our box spring is narrower than the rails and if you rely on gravity alone to keep the cross pieces in place they will likely shift out of place over time. 10 bolts is cheap insurance they stay in place. I'm happy. If we have problems I'll report them.

These bedrails were perfect to go with the headboard and footboard I purchased for a guest room. The rails are heavy and seem strong. I read several reviews where people said the metal pieces that come with the rails don’t fit. If you put them in crossways, as shown in my photo, they fit perfectly. I still added wooden support slats, just to be safe. I also screwed the rails into the headboard and food board for added stability. I’m very happy with them!

These rails were exactly what we ordered and worked well. There were four long wires with hooked ends included, in two different lengths. Since there was no information in the package, I assumed they were designed to go between holes in the rails to keep the rails from bowing out after they were installed. I believe the two different lengths were for either twin bed or full bed, leaving me with two stiff wires I have no use for. A little info would have been good to have. Otherwise, great product and exactly what we needed.

Bed rails are of great workmanship. Universal fit except for custom beds, example crib conversions appear to use a smaller rail lock for their headboards. We bought these for a toddler to full size conversion. The rails were to big to fit and slip not place. But we had and older headboard and standard foot board for a twin set and they fit perfectly as our originals were lost in moving at some point. The only con is the steel rod hooks included which appear to be for slat substitution. They do not fit the rails in twin or full configuration and there is no packing sheet to explain their inclusion. Except for this the product is Great!

I had an old bedroom set of my parents but didn't have the bed rails, I had used some rails with the bolt connection but with their old bed it had hooks so I used the bedroom set without the headboard and footboard but thought it was about time to find some correct rails. These rails are great - better than the rails that originally came with the bed. I was impressed with the color of them, the width of the "ledge" that the bed sits on and how the hook just slid in (I was nervous about not having the right size). I have to just say very happy with the purchase.:)
