Like the hidden spiral. Sprial is a bit curved in at the bottom of the page so its a little hard to turn the pages. Great to have each year on the same page.

The concept of this journal is fantastic, and the cover design is truly beautiful. However, the spiral binding is a major letdown—it doesn’t allow the pages to lie flat, and the paper starts ripping around the spirals as you flip through. For a journal meant to last five years, it’s disappointing to see it falling apart on day one. Sadly, this makes it impractical for long-term use, which is such a shame given the thoughtful design.

Love the idea of this item. Not the biggest fan of the spiral part because the pages get stuck and it's hard to write on them.

I originally ordered the smaller 5 year journal which was smaller and not very user friendly. The return was easy and this journal- which isn’t the largest- is just what I wanted. It’s easy to write in because of the spiral spine and just big enough to document weather and conditions to manage ranch life from year to year. Very pleased

It's a lovely journal. I was a little disappointed with the spiral binding. It looked like it may have been unwinding and was pressing on the bottom of the pages so they wouldn't turn without tearing. My husband was able to fix it with a pair pliers so I decided to keep it.

Where this journal shines is in its cover and title page. The cover is stunning, with a fun, floral, colorful pattern. The cover quality feels decent, though it's really just a thick, textured cardstock that I'm not sure would hold up to five years of use. The title page also has a pretty floral pattern on it that is bright and inviting. It makes you feel happy as soon as you open the journal. However, the remainder of the journal is just black and white with zero color. I found that to be a bit of a disappointment. Also, the spiral binding doesn't work great with how thick this journal is and how many pages there are. As you get further into the journal and try to flip the pages, they don't want to lay nicely. It felt like the top 3/4 of the page would lay fine, but the bottom 1/4 wouldn't flatten out because the design of the spiral at the bottom.I also find the paper to be a bit too thin. I know it's a thick journal already, but I don't love being able to see through the page to see the printed lines and numbers from the opposite side. In addition, I saw some quality control issues with the printing. There are hundreds of pages in this journal, and even with just randomly turning to a few different pages, I found where there were a bunch of black ink spots throughout one of the journaling sections. I did not page through the entire journal to see how often that happened, but it was a bummer nonetheless.Lastly, from brand new, there was a tear in the title page as well as a bent top section of the page. To see how damaged it was from the get-go does not give me a lot of confidence in this journal holding up for the 5 years it's meant to be used. I also would be too annoyed by the way the pages don't lay flat to use it on a daily basis.I'm usually really happy with Steel Mill products, this one was just a miss for me.
