I'd been debating purchasing this for about a year. I was hesitant to buy because there are no good pictures anywhere of the brush guard with with winch mount for the H3. So I've included a bunch of pics...you're welcome Steelcraft. It took me exactly 1 hour to install with the help of my 14 year old daughter who helped get the first 2 bolts lined up. We also used the block of styrofoam that was included in the packaging to set the brush guard on in front of the H3. The back of the winch shelf touches the bumper and will probably leave a mark (see pics). I think a thicker rubber pad between the brush guard and the mounting points would fix that. I have another H3 with another brand of brush guard that has 2 hard plastic spacers in the same location that keep it away from the vehicle enough. The support brackets that attach inside the grill are at the max extension for mounting to the brush guard (see pics). The main mounting points for the brush guard had 2 rubber strips attached to them at the bottom, I'm assuming to prevent them rubbing through the shipping box (see picture). Be sure to remove them before you bolt the brush guard on. The welds look good and the finish seems durable. I'm waiting for my winch to arrive. Once I install that, I'll update my review.

The brush guard arrived quickly. UPS had roughed it up a bit, but a little touch up paint took care of it. Installed quickly on 2009 hummer and looks great. Winch went on easily And everything works well

Item is very strong and sturdy. Gives your Hummer a whole new look. Definitely recommend. Install took like 30min between two people.

Installed this today on my 2010 h3 alpha. Definitely have a second person or a hoist to hold the guard in place while you install it. I did it myself with no hoist but it took longer and was more difficult that way. Seems very solid and gives me some peace of mind when it comes to possible deer impacts. Also makes me want to install a winch. The only issue I had with the install was the small bolts in the center of the tow hook mounts. Once they are removed I could not get the hole on the passenger side lined up again. They seem like they are there to make lining up the mounts easier, and since the mounts each have two large bolts holding them and the guard in place I don't worry about it.

There are very few options available for H3's now for mounting a winch or for a upgraded brush guard. This is both for an excellent rice. Easy install by myself, total time for removal of the stock guard then installing this one & installing my winch was about 2.5 hours. It looks great, fits perfect & is solid. I tested it by pulling my H3 Alpha with my winch on a dirt road with a decent upward incline with brakes locked up. Dragged the H3 with all 4 wheels locked for about 50 feet, No problems or issues with the bumper with that much stress. The only thing I would want changed is the availability of a flat black finish instead of the gloss black. But I can live with it the way it is, for now.....

It's a grill guard. It mounts behind the bumper hooks, so it's solid. Install is a pain, I did it by myself but wouldn't want to do that again. Two people would help, but in reality I'd get three people to install so one can bolt it in and stabilize the rubber pads while the others hold the guard steady. It's held up well for a few months, but a winter will tell if the powder coating is solid or not. The welds all look good. Would I smash into a bison at 45? Probably not, but if I do hit a deer I'd have reason to believe it should hold pretty well.Oh, it has a spot for a winch. I didn't realize that, now I need to buy a winch. Not going to complain, as the wife said it looks silly without it and therefore we need one, which I liked, but that means I have to buy one. It does give me a good step to get up and service the motor.
