My amp step had stopped returning fully to the up position so after some research I came the conclusion I needed to do a motor swap. The swap was very simple and the build quality of the new motor seems great, my step now works flawlessly. I did add white lithium grease to the gears so hopefully it will reduce friction and extend the life of the motor.

Motor worked as it should on Gmc 3500 side step. However no new mounting hardware was with it.

These are just like the original Amp power step motors on my GMC 3500 Duramax. They started sticking, and wouldn’t come down or up. I replaced the motor and they are back to new again.
