This step stool is actually quite stylish but I don't know if it is the best thing for toddlers to useThe flip down lower step is a bit unsteady and I could see a toddler easily tripping over it causing the whole thing to come crashing down. If you want to let your toddler use it then no one is going yo stop you but I wouldn't.

This stool was easy to assemble with the video provided. It is the perfect height to belly up to the kitchen counter or island with a cool footstool so little feet don’t dangle. I can use it as a step ladder to reach high shelves in the kitchen cabinets. Love it!! I bought two!

I am so in love with this stool! I have small children and we have tried so many stools in our house. This one is absolutely perfect for us. The stool itself can be used as additional seating so it doesn't need to be stored out of the way when not in use and the step flips in and out smoothly and with very minimal effort so small children can easy use it.The stool itself arrived in pieces but was very easy to put together. My 10 year old son actually put it together for me in about 10 minutes with no troubles at all. The pieces arrived nice and secure in a box and the quality of the wood is actually very nice and sturdy without being too heavy.

First, I need my screwdriver (cross) to complete this task. The tool accompanying this product can only assemble some parts.The wood is solid and well-built. I think the material is better than some bookcases. I can confidently stand on top of the stool without worrying about falling. It also came with 6 pads to prevent the stool from sliding and scratching the floor.I could put together the parts by following the instructions. The whole process was simple. However, some holes in the connection parts did not precisely match each other, though I could still connect them using the bolts with extra force, which slightly deformed the tool. The tool was constantly out of its correct position. I was lucky to have a spare one coming from my previous purchase of furniture. The completed stool looks nice and stands stably on the floor. I can approach the upper shelves more easily.

I put this together by myself. The directions were not the best but, it was pretty self explanatory and I got it right the first time so that was a bonus. It took me about 35 minutes to put together. You will only need a screwdriver, they supply everything else. It was easy to assemble and I was very happy with this chair/step stool. It's very versatile and matches my dining decor. I like that the step ladder can be pushed in or extended. I'm using as an extra chair for now. Item better than described. It's a great value and I highly reccomend. Thank you!

The assembly instructions provided with the item are basically b/w pictures of the item itself being assemble which does not help much because you can barely see the chair and the pieces being put together. A better idea would be to use the drawing approach where the item is "transparent" consisting of just lines put in the proper 3D perspective, this would communicate much better the process.The item itself is very sturdy to sit on but using it as a step ladder does not seem to be a great idea: the 1st step of the ladder might be a problem: the way the 1st step is attached to the second larger 2nd step is through a 'wood' traversal that fits two holes on the support columns of the second step.The problem is this piece of wood is too flexible and will get out of the holes when the weight of someone standing on the first step shifts from the outside end of the step to the inside. As a recommendation to the manufacturer, ideally, this piece should be a something made of solid, non-flexible metal and the holes should have some kind of metal shell inner cover to reduce the friction of the traversal to the columns.

This is a nice looking, sturdy little step-stool/island seating combo deal.The finish is really nice, the wood is sturdy and took the stain really well.The pieces all fit, the bolt holes all line up (yeah, I know, I was shocked!), and the only thing that sucked were the instructions. They look like they were copied with a ditto copier (mimeograph?) left over from 1978... lots of streaks, and it was really hard to identify which parts they were talking about.But it's not exactly rocket science, and between common sense and what I was able to read on the instructions, it went together pretty easily.Also, you will need a screwdriver (not supplied) to screw the seat to the legs.Definitely a really nice piece of furniture, and it's a pretty nifty step stool!
