I have replaced my micro-stepper drivers many times and have never had one that just doesn't work with my CO2 laser engraver controller. Nothing nota no buzz nothing. I'm sure it's not compatible with my systems Rudia controller but not sure why.

This was a good upgrade to my cnc Z axis. The current spindle and assembly weighs about 4kg. This motor moves it with ease and without generating too much heat during larger jobs.

I can't say enough good things about Automation Direct. You get exactly what is advertised and fast delivery. Their site is pretty amazing. They offer a gear calculator for belts, belt size, gear ratio, # of teeth, anything you can think of to help you determine exactly what you need. They also offer free 3D stl/object files for printing for many of their parts. Huge selection of anything automation. Wish they sold aluminum extrusion or other modular structural building materials.

I've been doing control systems for a long, long time and I got this kit to help me model a system in my shop. I'm pretty impressed. There's not much to say about it, it just works. On the plus side, the step, direction and enable inputs are optically isolated, which is good for system reliability and for flexibility. They bring out both sides (cathode and anode) of the optos, so if your signal polarity is backwards, you can just reverse the wires. There is plenty of flexibility in step sizes from one to 51,200 pulses per step. The output current regulation is adjustable from 0.75 to 4.5 amps, The terminal strips are pluggable so you can replace the drive easily, if need be. One thing I would have liked is separate terminal blocks for the motor, motor power, logic power and control signals. It would make things slightly easier on assembly. I'm pretty sure that these terminals are stackable, so just swapping the plugs out for smaller ones should be simple. The motor is great. It's a big, honkin' Nema 23. About twice the length of most, and it shows in the tourque. The system I bought this for has the motor swinging a foot-long piece of 1" square iron tube, and it does it with no problem, and surprisingly fast. The only thing missing from this kit is a motor mounting bracket. Those are available from Amazon, but it would have been nice to have it included. I will absolutely buy more of these as my needs arise.
