Your cart is empty. The LM317 is a monolithic integrated circuit in TO-220 packages intended for use as positive adjustable voltage regulators. They are designed to supply more than 1.5 A of load current with an output voltage adjustable over a 1.2 to 37 V range. The nominal output voltage is selected by means of a resistive divider, making the device exceptionally easy to use and eliminating the stocking of many fixed regulators.

This is too expensive for one lm-317! I was taken in by the photograph of ten items and thought that one pack referred to ten items in one package! I am not a happy customer but have no recourse because of the deceptive wording and photography. If you are selling one item then photograph one item! These devices are much cheaper elsewhere and I will not make this mistake again!

I have a small power supply that I put together for those low voltage projects where you need fairly clean, regulated DC voltage. The current project is a wireless, IP capable security camera install at our home. I wanted to test voltage drop on 18/2 solid copper wire and camera voltage tolerances. I Built this PS from the plans found at a Radio Shack when it was: 1) still around 2) sold electronics & 3) had decent electronic project books. First, you get a package at an incredibly low priced transistors and it's convenient, I did not need to drive 30 miles to the nearest Fry's Electronics in hopes of finding the item. There are three Fry's, all exactly 30 miles North, West or South of me. Wish one would come to Long Beach, nooooo, my Wife would never see me again. Anyway, I installed the new one and the heat sink fins remained cool and my voltage ranges: 1-10, 10-35 low current and 10-35 hi current were clean. Very happy with this purchase. Recommend the product.

Works as stated. These seem to get hotter than some of the LM317's I have used in the past, but still supply the current and voltage required in the projects I am working on.

The actual LM317T is fine and works well, came in a pack of 25 but the labeling seems to be hand written. It came in a anti static tube but there was masking tape instead of rubber stoppers. LM317T calculators are here:CURRENT CONTROL: http://www.reuk.co.uk/LM317-Current-Calculator.htmVOLTAGE CONTROL: http://www.reuk.co.uk/LM317-Voltage-Calculator.htmHope this helped!

Comes in an antistatic IC rail. So far i've used two of these. Contrary to some other reviews on this product, they (so far) both work fine out of box and withstand heat just fine. There's tons of information available for these guys, including resistor calculator for setting voltage, and formulas for factoring thermal dissipation (ie. whether an application should require a heatsink or not.)Excellent product and a great price.

they are good value and to me a must have. As long as you build your project within the spec of these jewels I can not seeing any problem.this is one of the first items I added to my spare parts kits. right there with resistor and cap kits.will order again when my inventory gets low

These little units are exactly as described and are labeled correctly. they are accurate in both of my test setups to within 3% of all listed datasheet specs. If you need to build low voltage regulation circuits you cant go wrong with the "tried and true" LM317. Just keep in mind that if you pull more than 1 amp or drop the supplied voltage (above 9 volts) by around 30% or more, these do require a small heat sink (a 1.25 inch standard finned model will do). If you are not a fan of the LM317 or its specification ranges you may also wish to look at the U.S. Semiconductors LM2596 regulators sold by amazon. They have a narrower range of input voltage but are marginally (about 5%-7%) more efficient at higher voltage (ex. 24v regulated to 18v) applications. I personally prefer these LM317 regulators due to their proven track record and their reliability. Excellent value for the hobbyist or the professional. Will be buying more within the year.

i was given a 90 amp 13.8v power supply and the LM723 based control board was cooked and i did not card for over load protection so i just built a 3 stage B.E. follower circuit the last stage drives the 8 2N3771 T0-3 transistorsinput is 28v dc from after diodesR1 is 680ohm R2 is a 10k muti-turn pot to give me about a 3.3~22v supply 10~80ampsproject was simple and works fine i have had loads over 50amps on it with out any problemsa LM317 is a LM317 they do what they do or they are bad not really any middle ground so 5 stars it got here really quick
