Love the short handle, let's you use it while crouching much more easily. If you're breaking the handle, you're misusing the hammer. I have had no issues with the fit or quality of the handle, not a bit of looseness after more than a year of near daily use on stone, although it's beginning to wear and I will likely contact Picard for a direct replacement. Head has stayed sharp enough given the abuse it takes. I added bicycle grip tape, it's the pink-handled hammer in the images.

Wie auf den Bildern zu sehen ist wurde der Keil schräg gearbeitet. Das ist beim behauen der Steine schonmal ungünstig, da ungenau. Beim Versuch einen Granit Großstein (16cm) zu spalten hat sich der Stahl ganz schön abgearbeitet (Bild nach dem Versuch, zuvor war der Hammer neu) und besonders zufriedenstellend hat es auch nicht funktioniert.Um kleinere Ecken abzuschlagen oder eine Kante nach zu bearbeiten taugt der Hammer schon.
