My rear sight is very close to my RMR so I had to trim the thickness on the back of the cover next to my rear sight. I used a burr in my Dremel tool and it worked perfect to thin the plastic to a proper fit. A bit expensive in my opinion but does what its designed for and would buy again. If you think your going to purchase this cover and use your red dot, think again. Its not designed for that application or even implied that it is. Its a protective cover only, and does a good job for what its designed for on my RMR.

Fits tightly on the RMR and is easy to remove with the built-in tab. As others have noted, this isn't meant to be kept on during shooting, but it could be left on during emergencies where there is no time to remove it.One of the downsides of an open reflex sight is that rain on the lens or LED emitter can screw up the sight picture. This is perfect to keep on while hunting until you are ready to shoot. There is a small hole to which you can attach a tethering thread so that it doesn't get lost. It's a shame Trijicon wastes money on an oversize plastic box yet fails to include a practical sight cover like this.

LOL... people actually think your rmr will be functional with this protective cap on top. I know... it says transparent, that doesn’t mean it can stay on while shooting LOL!!! Stop giving this thing bad reviews because you can’t see your dot when it’s installed. The trijicon rmr is one of the toughest red dots in the industry, it doesn’t need a cover on it when you shoot it! This is for protection while being transported or (most likely in all these bad reviewers cases) sitting in their closets or 30 dollar Walmart safe collecting dust. The rmr is made for hard use stop trying to protect it from getting scratched when your shooting it. Thes cover fits in perfectly and stays on during transport or storage. Great product.P.S.if your new to shooting or the ar world don’t listen to these threeper bubba amazon reviews.

I bought this item solely to protect my Trijicon RMR sight and not to shoot with it on. It appears to be a little dark to see through, so I'm not sure how easy it would be to see through. However as a protector for the RMR, it's excellent. It fits perfectly, but is a little difficult to remove due to two plastic nubs on each side that fit into holes on each side of the RMR. I suppose these nubs could be removed with a utility knife to allow easier removal of the cover. The cover is well made and is exactly what I was looking for to protect my Trijicon investment.

I bought this cover specifically as a shell to provide some protection for the RMR I fitted it to. In this regard it works very well, keeping the glass of the reflex Trijicon unit relatively safe from damage. With this need I'm satisfied with the effectiveness of this device. That being said it should be pointed out that as a 24/7 operational cover it's not all that useful. The cover's smoked transparency is extremely obscured and although I can see the red dot of the RMR when the unit is on, the resultant sight picture through the cover is next to useless. The unit is made from a relatively rigid plastic, not all that different from the sort of material many smartphone cases are made from. Although it's somewhat pliable the amount of stiffness makes removal of the cover difficult, and given how poorly 'transparent' this cover is, removal IS a must. Turning the RMR on and off (this one is battery-powered) is also made more difficult with the cover in place; a lot of pressure put on the cover over the control switches is absolutely mandatory in order to make them work as they should. As shipped the cover snaps firmly into place and gets its death grip on the optic due to two opposing nubs molded into the sides of the cover that slip into the corresponding holes on the flanks of the RMR; it's these nubs that make the removal process more difficult than it should be for quick access and operation of the optic beneath it.Fortunately the fix for this is relatively easy, courtesy of any reasonably sharp bladed knife. Using a snap-blade utility knife, removing both nubs took less than 30 seconds and the resultant fit after the modification is still snug and positive. Moreover, Strike provides a molded hole to allow for the tethering of the cover to your firearm or mount, which works well with a bit of black monofilament fishing line looped and tied off through a convenient roll pin on the QD lever of my American Defense RMR mount (fortunately located on the left side, away from the ejection port of the rifle the optic is mounted on). Access is quick and I don't have to worry about losing the cover.

I purchased this as a protective cover for my Trijicon adjustable RMR RM06. Very snug fit (did I say very?). Almost too tight initially. there is a thumb ledge toward the back of it that is suppose to allow you to apply pressure and flip it off. I'm here to tell you that it just ain't that easy. I had to apply pressure to both sides equally to get the thing off. While it is advertised that you can use the RMR with the cover on, it is darker (not clear) and makes the RMR (adjustable RM06) go to full power. I can see diminished battery life if you did operate all the time with the cover on. I still have to say that I am glad I purchased it as there is no doubt that it will protect the RMR from water, dust, dirt, etc. I will remove it when I intend on using it as the target acquisition is much faster in my opinion with it off.
