At 1st when I ordered this kit, I was like dang is it going to be worth it or a bust. Well, after only 10 minutes of the full process with 2 exhaust studs broken below the heads surface their both out. Of course I'm going to put this here, if you don't clean your broken studs it's not going to work. The small nuts that got into the plate get held against the head and just build that weld up cool it off. I personally heat the broken stud 1st then weld, then cool it down and then heat again and extract. I only have gm ls vehicles but if I had ford etc I'd buy their kit again, it made a breeze of getting these studs out.

It’s not quite as easy as the video shows on most jobs but it does work…at times. As the owner of an Automotive Repair & Exhaust Specialists shop I have unfortunately done 100s and 100s of manifold jobs over the years and they are always generally a nightmare. This does give another option over drilling that I have had some success with. There are several studs that I prepare and properly weld the nut too time and time again and unfortunately it still doesn’t budge and needs to be drilled. For years I always drilled with the Pro-Maxx kits which takes time and is still a pretty big chore. This does offer some help as another solution. These days I start with the EZ Stud Out kits and then resort to drilling with the Pro-Maxx kit for any that I don’t successfully remove with the EZ. Good tool, just not always the end all answer.

im not a very good welder but i tried my mig welder and could not get it to melt the stud so i used my Arc Welder and it worked perfect. this tool is expensive but it worked great for me. and the stud was a little under flush. this was on a 2010 Chevy Tahoe 5.3 V8

Worked exactly like it says it does. Would highly recommend it. Easily took out 3 broken exhaust manifold bolts on a 2003 LM7

If you do alot of broke ls,hemi or triton manifold bolts these tools are a must have. I haven't used the ls one yet but the hemi one is amazing

Worked on 2 of the 3 bolts. Maybe my welder wasn't good enough or maybe user error, I'm not sure but the last one would not budge so I used and easy out but extractor which worked to my surprise. Try these first if you can afford it!
