Originally, I replaced the worn out original on my 1970s Raleigh Soorts with one of the Taiwan made copies. Not a good choice. They’re flimsy and cheap. This authentic Sturmey Archer shifter is made of thicker gauge steel and it’s very sturdy. The study positions are very tactile with an audible click. Shift lever is comfort to use as well. Buy this one instead of the cheap copies.

I have spend a few weeks restoring a vintage bicycle with a 3 speed hub. This fit perfectly to replace a decades-old shifter.

Perfect. Easy to install. With this and a new cable and spindle, I got all 3 speeds working again on my trusty old Schwinn for less than 30 bucks.
