  • WHAT IS SUBLIMATION: Sublimation is the process of converting something from a solid to a gaseous form. Dye sublimation converts dye-based ink to a gas that dyes polyester. Designs drawn on plain paper with our markers are then heated with a craft iron or heat press to temperatures around 400° F. At that temperature, the ink converts to a gas and stains the blanks creating a lasting design!

I purchased all the colors available to use for watercolor application of the sublimation inks. I like to use this with water pens. I used the white paint available from this same manufacturer to change the intensity of the color, without it over saturating the paper I am working on. There is a viscosity difference that needs to be accounted for, and the flow is inhibited. A white mixer in ink would be preferred but the manufacturer isn’t planning on that, at this time, as per a reply on a YouTube video. I add drops of the ink into a plastic palette with wells to further mix the colors and adjust the hues and tints.
