Product Description

how to use clean apply adhesive clamp trim

How to reattach a convertible windshield:

01 Clean all surfaces, remove debris, and degrease.

Remove all old adhesive and debris from the windshield and convertible top. Clean the glass and fabric with a degreaser like isopropyl alcohol.

02 Apply a sealant-adhesive (ex. 3M Window Weld).

Apply a continuous bead of sealant-adhesive glue between the windshield glass and convertible top fabric, following the manufacturer’s instructions.

03 Clamp the joint and wait for the adhesive to cure.

Use suction clamps to apply pressure while the glue cures. Add grease under the suction cups to prevent air leaks and increase holding power.

04 Trim away the "squeeze-out" with a utility knife.

After the glue has fully cured, remove the clamps and cut away excess glue with a razor blade.

These could have actually been decent if the suction cups weren't flat. That's right, flat, not enough air to be pushed out to create a decent suction. Had to lay bricks on top to maintain pressure. You were so close but chose to use crap components. To be honest a flat strip of wood and some bricks would probably work better than this trash.

I got these because my convertible top was separating from the glass. Just add glue. These worked great.

These Suction Cup Clamps worked as expected, I'm very satisfied and they stayed in place for many hours until I removed them.

used these clamps to hold 3 m double sided tape to try and reattach my convertible glass window back to the fabric top. FYI I used gun grease to lightly coat the bottom of the suction cup as suggested. They held perfectly for 72+ hours. I read reviews that claimed the suction cups were difficult to remove so when I went to do just that I was ready for a fight. Didn't happen. I used a slim bladed box cutter device and I used the dull side of the blade and it was shockingly easy to lift up enough of a corner that I could grab and pull up and the cup/clamp just came off. So good job Convertible Doctor, thank you

I have a convertible top with glass that popped off the canvas. We used these suction clamps to hold the glass down while the epoxy dried. They are initially pretty strong, but after a few minutes, they lose their suction and are useless, rendering the epoxy to unadhere which is so frustrating!. I’m returning. They did not do what I needed them to.

i bought 2 sets I wet the suction cups and clean the windows before using that seem to work best. the suction cups should be around 65 F to be pliable enough to hold. so far so good.

I considered several of these suction cup devices to re-glue a convertible car window. These appeared to be highly approved. They are well made and sturdy. Some may complain about suction cups not holding. I did a test by attaching these to the glass window and applying tension with wing nuts. My initial test lasted for at least a week. Suction cups stuck to glass until I removed them. Key to making sure they work well…clean glass with glass cleaner then suction cups with mild soap and water before use, and make sure to have a drop or two of water applied between window glass and suction cup before pressing down on suction cup to seal.

There is really no substitute for these guys. They work great, if they work. I think there is an invariable chance that one or two will not stay suctioned on the glass for more than 15 minutes. Therefore, you cannot leave your work for more than 5 or 10 minutes to make sure you don't need to swap it out for another one. If anything, put ALL of them on the window (that you cleaned with brake cleaner and razor bladed to make sure it is a perfect surface) and only do 3 or 4 suction cups at a time. Then, when one fails, you can swap it for one that is still stuck on the glass somewhere else.See? That is how you overcome the problem. Bitesize pieces. I did them all at once and had to keep "resticking" a couple every 15 minutes while the rest stayed put all night long. I should have just done a few at a time so I would have spares to replace them with.
