This is a very good seam ripper. I haven't used this one because it was a gift to my son-in-law who sews but I have a similar one and they are great.

VERY sharp unguarded blade, you have been warned!Excellent for 'mistakes' made on an overlocker, does the job cleanly and quickly.If you have an overlocker you need one of these.Highly recommended

This is a very sharp seam ripper and is a good complement to my existing normal seam ripper. I like that it came with a button hole cutter blade.

Definitely will cut threads. Be extra careful though. It may cut your fabric if caution isn't used. Extremely sharp.Do think product is over priced though. Plastic handle is flimsy though adequate for the blade
