The fabric is soft and very lightweight. the neck flap is removable, nice design. It provides full protection from the sun. But the thread is loose, stitch quite rough. I hope it can survive after a few times of use and wash.

This is the perfect hat for most outdoor activities. It fit both myself and my boyfriend well. Wore it on a fishing trip and it kept the back of my neck from getting sunburned. It's light without feeling too thin. Love it and highly recommend.

My husband wore this today when he mowed the lawn and boy, was he grateful I got it for him! It's Central Florida in mid-May, and for some reason, the temps are almost in the hundreds, plus or usual 100% humidity. He said the hat helped immensely to keep the heat and sun off of him, which is not always the case. Sometimes these things keep the heat IN!I like that the flaps are removable and there's a string clasp to keep it on in case there's a gust of wind. I got the dark gray because I felt that was more his style, rather than the lighter colors that might actually keep out even more heat. But I knew if he wouldn't wear it, it wouldn't keep any heat out! Overall, it's a great work hat when you want to avoid heatstroke or a sunburn.

This hat was purchased for wife while she does gardening. She is loves the adjustable fit and neck flap to help block the sun. Rim of hat has netting to let air flow on the head

Great hat! Brim is fairly stiff but not hard. The neck flap rolls up and has a pocket on the brim it can be tucked into if it is not needed. Chin strap is removable. Great hat for the sunny theme park days. Made of quick dry material and vented very well. I would put this up against any of the major outdoor brands' hats. Good quality stitching, sized very well for American market, Fits great, and excellent sun protection.

Sun hats are not an option due the brutal summers down south, more like a necessary nuisance. Even with sunscreen, you stand a good chance of turning brown very quickly (along with a red neck, hence the term).However, not all hats are created equal. If you don’t have a mesh screen on the headband area you’ll do nothing but sweat and, eventually, stink.This hat is made of nylon, like most of this design, and not only has an adjustable strap but a removable neck flap. And for those who don’t care, it’s crushable, i.e., it can be curled up and tossed elsewhere when you’re not using it.Sizing is called medium, and although there is an adjustable drawstring this is a hat better described as medium/large.One thing the ad doesn’t mention is that these are water repellent/resistant just by the nature of their nylon construction, nor does the ad discuss washing procedures, so I asked the seller.The issue with many of these hats, not this one in particular, is that once you wash them, the waterproofing may be damaged by detergents and, especially, softeners.Initially the seller responded, “hand wash” and then came back a couple days later with another response. They actually machine washed one and it came out just fine. I still wouldn’t recommend softeners.Double points for going the extra mile on customer service!In my case, I “wash” these to get rid of stink by tossing the whole thing in the pool. A couple minutes later and the smell is gone (the hats dry in short order).As for pricing, this one seems a bit stiff in comparison to others; however, it’s still cheaper than the big name variations out there.
