The Sun Joe Pro rear discharge worked very well for me.Battery charging issues some people posted may because they did not plug in the charger jack into the charge port on Sun Joe. incorrectly like I had initially done.After unboxing and setting up Sun Joe when I first plugged the charger jack into the charging port the green led on the charger remained on. I carefully checked the charger and it correctly put out 29.0 volts. The power indicator on the mower showed yellow and red that charge was needed.The charger falsely showed "Green" full charge.I thought the Charger jack felt lose when I pushed in in the charge port. I tried again and pushed the jack from the charger into Sun Joe with a lot more force. The jack felt like it was pushing on a strong spring, went in deeper, clicked and bottomed. The charger then turned red showing the charge was needed and continued to charge until the led turned full charge green againInitial charge on Sun Joe: 9:15 to 12:15 (charger turned green from red. The bat charge indicator lit all 3 led lit show full charge.Today cut ~ 25X75 of lot (full lot 25/100 feet.) battery showed 3/4 charge..(yellow and Red) on Sun Joe chg ind. It Took from 2:30 to 4:36 to fully charge. Maybe I could have cut have cut the additional 25/75 grass was very fairly low due to the dry weather..Sun Joe Chg indicator showed red and yellow when I quit my trial run. .(Grass cut today was ~-5 inches tall). Motor revved high once when I hit a broken part of a tree limb. Cut off Sun Joe immediately so not as to waste battery at high revs. and then immediately restarted and that reset the lower RPM rate, not wasting battery.All in all a great little mower, light weight, easy to maneuver and battery life good for small areas.

We have an older model of the Sun Joe mower. It looks almost identical to this newer one, even the same cute green color. We have had it for 9 years and it is still working like a champ. Why did we buy this one, then? Because it is cordless. That simple. Dealing with the cords was becoming a chore in itself. Plugging the cords, connecting the two long cords, picking them up so as not to run them over with the mower, moving them aside, trying not to trip on them, unplugging the cords, etc, etc.This mower is making everything so much easier! It is also lighter than our older model.We are not using the bag. Our yard is kind of big and we would have to empty the bag several times with the corresponding walks to the dumpster which is on the other side of the property. This mower gets rid of the trimmings very easily. All in all it is a great mower, it is cordless, it is very light and it speeds up automatically when it encounters thicker or taller grass. Phenomenal!

Ok let me start by saying I was so excited to finally go cordless electric. I have my whole life used gas push mowers. So I know the ins and outs of gas mowers but know that repairs and priming and pulling and adding gas and oil all are just not fun and want something you just un plug and go. Well it got here and was what i expected. Up until the first wheel snapped off. So it ran beautifully and was light weight easy to menuver the battery lasted everything perfect except the cheap quality of the wheels. The wheel are barely suitable for a kids toy let alone a lawn mower. The wheels are all plastic and the plastic snaps easily at the axle. If they want to use wheels like this the only way I see them lasting is surrounding them with bumpers.The worst part of all is the part is out if stock everywhere including from the manufacturers. This will be a pain to return now. If you plan to use it more gingerly than you would a vacuum than this is the one for you but if you mow and may possibly bump you mower into a fence or rock or any solid object at least once (even if by mistake) this is not the one for you. I'm sorry Sun Joe I hate to do it but man step it up. A few more cents of plastic and we wouldn't be here

Overall it seems to work well - only used it once. When it arrived the pre-assembled Battery Gauge Cover was substantially cracked, but product functioned. We contacted Amazon (who was very pleasant). They suggested we start with the manufacturer to see if they would send a replacement part. The following day I called Sun Joe. Had to wait on hold about 30 minutes before a representative answered. I explained the situation and said we would prefer to get a replacement part (Part #10) rather than go through the process of trying to return the entire law mower. The representative seemed disinterested and ultimately was not helpful. Amazon offered a small refund to cover that part, so again Amazon is great.*** I have now started our second season using this mower. While customer service (above) was poor, the mower has been wonderful. Extremely light weight and easy to maneuver. I was worried that a shorter width than my old gas mower would be an issue. It takes me a few more passes to cover the entire lawn, but the ease of use and light weight more than make up for it. The battery will usually last long enough for me to do either the front or back yard, but not both at once. However it it so much easier to use than my gas mower I don’t mind splitting it up. I could do not e in the morning and the other in the afternoon or just split days. While it worries me at first that it is predominantly plastic, this may be the product that convinces me to keep going electric.

Bought this last summer. Only drawback at time was it only came with option to bag grass clippings. Since then, bought a side shoot attachment made by Sun Joe for this lawnmower. Very happy to have both options. Only drawback is that the battery is built in. (This is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.) Can't remove it out so have to charge it outdoors (worried I'll forget it's charging and leave it out all night). Also means I store it in the house during winter , worried about battery getting damaged (it's can go to -40 here in the winter). Battery charge lasts long enough to cut my front and back lawn and I'd say my back lawn is larger than most. Would recommend this product but might consider a wider cutting path on next one to reduce the number of times I go around the lawn.
