This blanket was purchased as a gift for a family member. I was there when they opened the present. I got a chance to use the blanket for a few moments and was very pleased with the quality of the fabric. It was so soft and cuddly. The heating element was set at high and was not overbearing. However, I was contacted not long after Christmas by the gift recipient. The heating coil had gone out and troubleshooting with the company didn't reap any results. I don't know how much stress was put on the blanket, like whether it was kept on for long periods of time or if there was any damage caused. So take this review with a grain of salt, but two months is a very short lifespan for a heated blanket.

Since I live in Maine, I feel cold much of the time from September until June. As I write this, it is August and already in the 40s at night. I love this cozy electric throw blanket, and I use it many of my waking hours while I read, work on my computer, watch TV, or sit and chat with family and friends. I've even been known to wrap it around my shoulders at the dinner table on January nights! My husband wanted to use it so often that I bought one for him as well. Not only does it make us feel warm and comfy, it actually helps us keep the thermostat lower than it would otherwise be, which means we use less oil to heat our home, a wonderful side benefit indeed.

My mother is 88 years old and always cold. She needed something to keep her legs warm while sitting and this blanket has performed perfectly. Very soft, good size, control works well and it heats as expected. Totally satisfied.

I love the amount of heat this throw puts out, keeps you toasty warm. The only thing I didn't like was the center placement of the wires, they tend to get in the way.

It's a soft throw, especially considering it has wiring inside. Worked as expected for less than a week. Now a red light is flashing on the heater control, and the throw is not heating up anymore. No amount of unplug/plug the power cord (as suggested in the manual) is resetting this behavior.About the seller. Item can not be returned, even if failed right away. You will need to contact manufacturer for any problems.

I live in central NC and initially I was thinking 'space heater or electric blanket'. The blanket won out due to less drawbacks and I'm glad I got it. It also has more applications: put it on high to treat sport injuries/stiffness, warm up the 'pups' after a cold walk, snuggle up to watch movies, warm up the bed.... In the month I've owned it I've been nothing but happy with its performance and appearance. The dark blue looks great and cleans up well, just shake it off is all I've done. The 3 hour auto shut off is a great feature and the 3 heat settings are practical and all you actually need. If you are in the market, get this one and you'll be glad you did.

I bought this through Amazon for two reasons......it runs for 10 hours, not 3, and no worry for getting too hot. I had another brand but it would stay on for only 3 hours. I use it to cover my bird at night when it's really cold in the house and I use it during the day when and if I get a chill watching TV or reading. Very plush and so comfortable. I'd suggest try getting a light color for your bird as they don't like dark colors. At least Mine doesn't.

I gave this blanket to my mother for Christmas. I was disappointed at first at how the wiring inside the blanket made the blanket so stiff, the fabric is soft though. My mother is thrilled with it and uses it every evening while she knits or sits at her computer. Her legs are always cold regardless of how high the temp is set in the house. Now she is so cozy in the evening!
