I have a trapper style Kuiu hat that's great for sub-zero/windy conditions, but which is uncomfortably warm for higher temperatures. I bought this Sunday Afternoons Trapper hat hoping it would be suitable for "mid-range" winter temperatures, which I would characterize as 0 - 25 F (without much wind) or 10 -30 (windy). It has turned out extremely well; reasonably light, but cuts the wind and keeps my head warm, but not too warm at the intermediate temps I targeted it for. As has been my experience with all Sunday Afternoon hats, the build quality is excellent. Very happy with it!

Only wish they had women's sizing. I managed to get it to fit OK by pulling straps all the way in. I wear this under my helmet for my ebike ride to work every day

Nice cap and a lot to like about it, but if you live where winters are brutal, this simply is not warm enough.

I got the large size. Put in on my half bald, big head and said: mmm, this sucker is warm and cozy. I wear a 7 3/4 hat, and this hat fits fine on the biggest setting. Can be adjusted down for people with pin heads (small brain capacity, ha ha). Blocks the wind, which is a shortcoming of knit hats. Maybe too hot for mild winter weather on calm days. I wear a knit hat on the cool days, and this windproof hat on the cold, windy days.

Brim was short, and generally a bad look on me. Was hoping to have the same styling as the REI trapper hat, which I love but I was unable to find in a color I liked. This hat didn't suit me, but that doesn't mean it won't suit others.

I’ve been searching for the perfect winter hat with ear flaps that’s more streamlined and had a bill. This fit that to a T. I haven’t had an opportunity to wear it yet as as soon as it arrived we began experiencing a warming trend. Will update following the next cold front.
