- During Summer, it can be a struggle to keep the cool end temperature down to 85 degrees. You can have small fans attached inside the terrariums to keep the air circulating.
- During night time, bearded dragons need no night time heat at all. They need a temperature drop to have a good sleep. Do not use a heat mat during this time as they can burn their tummies if they lay on these as they cannot feel heat through their stomachs. You may opt to use a ceramic heater that doesn’t produce any light. You may also just cover the vivarium, with a thick blanket and it will be sufficiently warm.
- Do not place your terrariums in direct sunlight since this will have effects on temperature.

We tried this for setting up a chick brooder after hearing that others recommended an aquarium thermometer for this purpose. It didn’t work well and I wouldn’t consider it accurate. It was giving a different reading than two other thermometers. It doesn’t seem very sensitive. We decided not to trust it for when we moved the chicks in and use something different. I wish it had worked because it seems easy to use and set up as the size is great and the price as well.

The size is perfect for the sized cage my hedgehogs are on. I didn't want anything too big that stands out and this is perfect. The temperature is accurate and allows me to monitor the cage temp due to hedgies being so finicky. Very pleased with price and super fast shipping

Description says that two AA batteries are required. False. An LR44 coin battery is what is required. The battery is not supplied. The packaging also says it’s for fish. I bought it to monitor the temperature in a brooding box. Since it didn’t come with a battery I don’t know if it is adequate for this purpose.

I appreciate how precise and reliable the thermometer is. It's nice to be able to turn off the device when not in use to save the battery, which is just a small lithium watch battery. When doing water changes. I'm careful not to raise or lower the water temperature more than a couple degrees in order to avoid shocking the fish. So having a digital thermometer that shows temperature changes in the tenth (1/10) degrees can alert me to any drastic varience that could be potentially shocking. Ive also found it useful for guaging the accuracy of the thermostats in the variable tank heaters.

I use one for my fish tank and one for my Desert Turtles Burrow outside. it also hangs on a pin or it comes with suction cup holders for a tank. It's been good to us and reliable, and accurate what more could you ask for!
