Perfect fit for the post of my old 1990 Schwinn. Concave washer doesn’t match the profile of the brake lever, making it impossible to adjust. When pad is rotated all the way back to get pad to fit rim, concave washer won’t stay in position. Bad design compared to Shimano or the original Schwinn brakes.

These brakes will fit vintage bikes. Just bought and installed on 80's era Miyata touring and MTB bikes. They are easy to install and adjust. Quality is as good as any other cantilever brake at a fraction of the cost.

I had to buy the connecting parts shown here separately, cost me with shipping almost $50 extra. Seller had sent a cheap connecting system (not shown or mentioned in product description) that I couldn't center. Seller patronized me and lied to me, saying this traditional system (shown in these photos) wouldn't work, but they work perfectly and would normally have cost 5 or 10 dollars, not almost 50. Seller is dishonest.

Works great. Metal spring retainer should be much more durable than the plastic ones on Shimano. Great price.

Got these as a replacement for 20-year old Shimano cantilever brakes where the plastic holding the spring had failed. These are all metal and installed in place of the old ones in minutes. I was able to reuse the straddle cable.As with all cantilever brakes there are so many degrees of freedom in adjustment so it took a while to get the pads dialed in. They initially seemed weak, but I had set up too much toe-in. When I reset the pads to make flatter contact they were much stronger. The pads that are included seem to be on the soft side but that may translate into better grip when they break in.

Brakes went on easy. Perfect leverage.Includes a nice link cable. The included brake pads are serviceable. I replaced them with some salmon pads that grip a little more in the rain.Simple, nothing fancy. Totally gets the job done.
