The plastic coupling that holds the 2 fiberglass rods together splits in half in ANY type of windy conditions. I bought 2 of these flags, and they both broke at the coupling, rendering the flag useless. Don't bother with a purchase of this product.

The flag itself is great but the issues are with the pole. When I put it together, I noticed immediately that it wasn't actually 72" tall. I'm 72" tall and instead of being at the top of my head, it was at eye level. Upon measuring, it is really more like 70.5". (see photo). Also, for my specific needs, I didn't want the attachment to connect it to my bicycle as this is a replacement for a flag on a bike trailer which already has a flag holder built onto it that is made to hold a 1/4" flag pole. Unfortunately, this pole is also not 1/4" as advertised but ever so slightly smaller, so while it fits in the holder I have, it actually falls through to the ground and drags when I ride.So if you want to use this piece as it is made, it should work fine for you, assuming you're ok with it being smaller than advertised. But for me, I had to order a different flag pole to make it work, so this whole operation wound up costing me ~$40...To be clear, it's not the seller's fault as this is a prepackaged item from a manufacturer.

The flag is well made and looks great. The bracket and fiberglass pole is junk. The metal bracket bends too easy and the small diameter fiberglass pole flexes too much and is in two parts with a clear plastic tube connecting the two shafts. I removed the great flag and moved it to a nice sturdy pole and now it is great.

I received this flag with some uncertainty due to other negative reviews. One I received it, albeit later than it was supposed to, I am very pleased with the product. The connector for the two pieces is hard plastic and this is the part that most people complain about. I just wrapped some self vulcanizing Gorilla tape around it and part of the shafts and won't have to worry about it breaking as I don't plan on taking them apart. The quality of the Flag is good and I would definitely purchase it again if the need arises. I would recommend this to everyone.

I almost did not purchase this due to all of the negative reviews but I am so glad that I took a chance on it. I have had it for about a month now and keep waiting for it to break, as other reviewers have reported, but it has not.I live on the coast (windy) and ride 12-22 miles 3-5 times per week so my bike and accessories are put to use. I like this flag because it was the only one I could find with reflective material. I am baffled as to the problems people have been reporting with this: it was extremely simple to put together and attach (two screws and washers from the hardware store .78 cents), materials are sturdy and withstand the wind, it is reasonably priced...I mean, what else could you want?If the above-stated changes, I will update my review but if you like this flag; get it. It’s great and I feel much safer and more visible to drivers with it.I like to ride near dusk when the UV rays are low and that reflective stripe is important to me. Excellent flag!

Chose this flag bacuse of the reflective strip for recumbent triking at dusk. Waiting for snow to go before trying locally but have it installed on trike for spinning. Set up on trike in the family room, so haven't tested the strength of the staff in the wind, but seems very stiff but flexible. The flag itself holds it's shape due to little clips both top and bottom. The sewn border of the flag is reflective as well and gives a bright outline when hit with light. Cut the bottom bracket off and 3 inches of staff to enable it to go into the hole in the top of the seat frame. Large orange ball at top of staff will keep anyone from getting their eye poked out. Would recommend to anyone looking for a very bright and reflective safety flag.

I bought this to use with my Burley D'lite bike trailer. First, I had to remove the metal bottom piece. The flag was so tightly stuck in that piece, that I had to use a vice to hold the metal bracket while I pulled the flag out. Another alternative would have been to cut off the bottom inch of the flag using a saw.The reflective strip on the flag is nice and does improve visibility. My biggest complaint is with the plastic sleave that holds the two flag pole pieces together. One of the flag pieces fits snugly, but the other is fairly loose. It didn't fall out during my maiden voyage where I rode ~15-20 mph. However, I feel like it could get blown out in high winds.
