Instructions
1)Two metal levers push together to open the inner part of the shock mount wide enough to slip the microphone into it.

This is one of the few that is of the correct size for the ATR 2100 series mics, which is an excellent microphone but is "in the middle" in diameter between the usual "thin barrel" dynamics and mics like a Yeti or similar. The ATR has the advantage of having both USB and XLR jacks on it, and thus can be used in both applications -- and it has an excellent warm, dynamic sound profile suitable for many vocal uses.As shock mounts go its a standard device, using shock cord loops to suspend the inner carrier from the outer one that screws on the microphone stand. There's nothing special about any of these -- this one just happens to be one of the few that fits that series of mic, and thus if you own one this is the mount to buy.

I bought four of these for my podtrak p4 setup and they are game changers! Every little table bump used to be an issue in our recordings but now theyre reduced to a small background noise! Shock mount ate necessary for anyone looking to improve the audio quality of their recordings!

I'm using one of those scissor boom arms that is connected to my desk. I did a test where I recorded my voice while typing, tapping on the desk, etc. When I played back the recording, the only thing I heard was my voice.The way you use this mount is by pinching the two metal levers/arms together, slide the microphone into the mount and release the levers.
