It is compatible with certain products including the electrical oil pressure gauge or metric adaptor kit which requires this particular sender and will not with any others.

This is the good pressure sender for Oil pressure gauges from SunPro. At least in my case used with Sunpro 2" Retro Electrical Oil Pressure Gauge Black / Chrome Bezel New CP7957. Do not make the mistake to buy a std oil pressure unit, as it will not work with SunPro gauge, the resistance value being not paired with the gauge.

I replaced the oil pressure switch on 02 Ford Ranger to get rid of the idiot gauge.It has a switch that made the gauge swat in the center all of the time. With this sensor, it varies with the oil pressure.Search for Ford Ranger oil idiot gauge or idiot light gauge to find the fix. A lot of 70's and 80's fords do this.I would rather see what is really going on.

Sorry Sunpro, I just left an awesome review for you mechanical gauge, but I have a mechanical gauge because I tried this one first. It bounced all over the place. I don't know if it was the sender or the gauge. I tried several different manifolds (to add or substract fluid damping) which didn't work. I thought maybe it was some king of electrical disturbance so I used different wires and used a shielding sleeve to shield it from electromagnetic disturbances. Nothing worked and the readings kept bouncing. I made sure the manifold was clear and the sender opening was clean... Needless to say I went mechanical, I do use your electrical oil temp gauge which works perfect.

this is a regular guage sender not a "light switch" and what you need for voltage/resistance type oil pressure guages .mounted this on an atomic four sailboat engine with a new guage set, worked well with non sunpro guage with similar resistance variation curve.
