Temp and pressure are mechanical - Great to not depend on old car electrical systems. You have to make sure there is a hole in the firewall big enough to accept the large temp sensor fitting. Not a problem for me.

These gauges are pretty accurate for what they cost. The temperature gauge was exactly right, testing against a known calibrated thermometer. The oil pressure gauge sticks slightly for the first 5 psi or so, but hardly noticeable. The voltage was off by .3volts low. 14.1 volts actual measured 13.8 volts.****EDIT****After more than 3 months, I just wanted to say I still like these gauges. They are working fine as reported earlier and now that I've been able to check them out after dark, the lights are just right for night driving. Enough to see the needle position and tell that things are working right. Any brighter and they would be a distraction. Don't bother wiring the lights through your dash dimmer switch though. You will want them full bright and if your dash is dimmed at all, they won't be bright enough.I've very happy with this purchase.

All three of my gauges work correctly. Volts within 0.25 volt. Oil Pressure and Temperature readings are for reference so need not be spot on. I think they are near accurate.Illumination is very good. Reports of being too dim, I think, are because the Bulbs were not pushed into the gauge housing all the way. Trimming off 1/8" of the Rubber Boot makes this easier.

The Sunpro gauge set is very nice and well constructed. The smaller size makes them compact and not as intrusive in a classic car. They fit neatly and out of the way under the dash and included all the necessary hard ware to install.

I bought this gauge set to replace a very similar Equus 6100 set that I bought a year ago, for only one reason, it has red needles - at night I cannot see the needles on the Equus set without my glasses. The Equus set is very slightly more expensive at $34 as compared to $30, and has a nicer finish, a little better quality - both voltmeters "under read" by almost a volt, right out of the box, the SunPro has a calibration adjustment, the Equus does not.The SunPro uses non standard illumination lamps, so if one fails, you'll either have to jury rig something, go back to SunPro directly for a replacement, or buy a new gauge set - the Equus uses off the shelf, baseless wedge lamps, available at your local auto parts store. The Equus comes with all the terminals and fittings you need to install, I had to provide my own ring terminals to connect the SunPro voltmeter, and it uses a archaic retaining bracket design, which after a few years, when the rubber grommets start to disentegrate will probably cause a short circuit and in my case, blow the cigarette lighter fuse (because that's where I connected mine), so be sure to connect yours to a fused circuit that is not critical to vehicle operation, such as perhaps the ignition circuit. So - a few minor irritants, a few design flaws - they work, they get the job done, I gave them three stars (an OK), but oh how I wish Equus had a set with red needles.Quick update - further disappointment. The installation of these gauges was done during the daytime - and I was quite disappointed when I got into the car in the evening, the illumination from the non standard lamps was so mediocre that the gauges were unreadable with or without my glasses. I dug out my soldering iron, some heatshrink tubing and a couple of 12v 5w baseless wedge style lamps, and made my own much brighter, non standard lamps. SunPro's "engineers" obviously don't use these gauges in their own vehicles.I took off a star for that.Oh, how I wish Equus had a set with red needles. And another update ...Three weeks later the voltmeter is sticking - the needle only moves if I tap the glass with my finger - took off one more star for that - I may have to put back the Equus gauge set - because I'm certainly NOT going to buy another SunPro set. The Equus that these replaced were about a year old, and I've also had an Equus set in another one of my cars for many years with no problems whatsoever.Ohhhhh - how I wish Equus had set with red needles.===========================================================================================================Fast forward five years - I've just bought another set of these, ironically, to replace, for the second time, the Equus that the original set were bought to replace - I still have the original set - fitted it to another vehicle a few years back. The Equus have plastic surrounds that let the light shine through making them bright enough to be visible at night - as the gauges age the plastic becomes brittle, breaks and falls into the gauge jamming the needle - I've had it happen with two of the Equus sets, so it's back to the Sunpro.I'm a bit disappointed to find that Sunpro has not taken advantage of newer technology, for example, the readily available white LEDs to improve the lighting on these gauges - and to the gentleman who suggested we needed to push the lamp bulb further into the gauge, been there, tried that, the incandescent lamp supplied are just not bright enough - I have two of these sets both lit by a "hand built" 5050 white LED lamp that sits flush with the gauge lamp tube, ie does not actually enter the body of the gauge.
