I figured bending the neck completely around might collapse it unless I filled it with sand. However, I had just taken off my old hose and was fully prepared to hacksaw it up. So, I goofed around and found out quickly the sky is blue, before grabbing my hacksaw and frankensteining the original aluminum tube to the new pressure hose. Which was how it was originally which is why I bought a new one! Moving on, at least I was able to take a few extra minutes to properly flare (and smooth) the tubbing before double clamping the new hose to it.
