This thing is amazing. I can't believe there are not more videos about it on youtube. Of course charging an e-bike via a wall charger using mains power will typically be faster, but depending on the capabilities of the solar panel(s) used, it can be very effective. The device does work and it even accommodates several standard voltages used by most e-bikes making the setup quite handy, and it can also be set to custom voltages as well, which does take some patience. I am truly amazed that it works so well, is so small, is so easy to setup, and requires no other device to work(besides a source of power). Provide a source to one end (clearly marked) and connect the battery needing to be charged to the other end(also clearly marked), then set the charging parameters and voila. You can even monitor the progress on the device which shows also shows the charging amps(ultimately determines the total time required to charge). I honestly think that most anyone should not be disappointed with this purchase, so long as they have reasonable expectations and possess a basic understanding of using such electronics. I would also like to add that the seller is responsive, at least, once a purchase has been made.

Hooked it up correctly and started smoking. Terrible considering the price! Would like the company to give a refund or send another, maybe this one was defective?

*** Update after using all summer ***I have not plugged my cart into charger all summer, It's on;y a weekend cart, and has fairly old batteries, But using a 235W panel was enough for my usage...1) Connect solar panel 1st (to non fused wires) It should light up (mine lit up even under Shop lights)2) If your battery voltage IS NOT 48v Hold Button for 10 seconds Green light will go off. Then 1 Click changes voltage.... keep hitting it till your battery voltage is displayed Then Long press button again to store3) NOW Connect to battery. regardless of sticker Connect battery to Fused wires.

connected to chanrge 48V LiFEPo4 batter from 12V PV 220Wt panel (golf cart setup)Connectors on the unit are swapped per web page ("battery" side is marked as PV side)Connecting per web site (device side marked as PV connected to battery) - both leds come up but the display show battery voltage instead of PV voltage. Connecting PV does not make any difference to the leds or panel and current remains 0Connecitng per sticker (PV side to PV sticke) - device does not even come up, no ledsThe manual is horrible. The bottom line - either device does not work and is a piece of junk, or there are some hidden tricks that are not documented, or I just got unlicky and got DOA device, or all of the above.Rating is as 1 star (since I can'd do 0) and will return .The bottom line - it's either a piece of junk or mine was simply DOA

It seems that several problems I had with this controller are related to the label on it. Other reviewers have already noted that the leads are backwards, but I haven't read one addressing the fact that it also describes the output voltage as "self setting." That contradicts the manual and caused me a lot of confusion. I don't believe that it is self setting at all.I bought mine to charge a 36 volt golf cart I keep at the farm, where there is no power except a generator. I hooked it to a 100 watt panel to keep the cart charge topped off when I'm not there. I trusted the self setting statement and it seemed to be working at first, but I eventually realized it was putting too much charge into the cart. At times it was up to 46 volts, which is 3 volts too many on a 36 volt cart. The "button" the manual describes for setting the voltage isn't what I would call a button. It is more like the adjustment on a watch, and the only way I could get it to set was to insert a small nail into it (blunt end of a finishing nail). After doing that, it seems that the controller is preset to 48 volts. I think I have it set to 36 now, and it seems to be working. Time will tell.I think this might be a good controller; the issues seem to be with the label and the manual. I don't understand why the company could obviously spend a lot of money in developing and manufacturing it and then not be willing to spend a few dollars on an English technical writer.

Just installed this today. The blue sticker that shows where to connect battery and PV is flipped 180 degrees. The side with the fuse must go to the battery. The screen is very useful, it shows (in a loop) battery voltage, PV voltage and PV current.

I bought this controller for a solar boat projectThe panels are 48v and the controller 12 to 50 and the battery output goes into the boat electrical system 24VIt looks very easy to set it up and pretty well build, also a nice displayWill update the review after a few sunny days of intense useIt’s also very compact and on the heavy side
