This is a kind of bulky front headlight. It is rather primitive in function as compared to others but it does the job. Click it to turn it on click it to turn it off. The rear light has effects/flashing modes that are nice. It holds a relatively good battery charge too.

When thinking about bike lights, there are two questions you want to ask: Is this light going to let me see things, and will it let things see me? The first question is going to focus on the light's beam pattern, and the second is going to focus on lumens.Starting with the headlight:The beam pattern for this light has a nice, wide viewing angle and the beam pattern is unbroken. There are no weird bezels or patterns on the lens covering that would cause disruptions in the field of view, and the light itself is nice and bright which will allow you to have a clear viewing area riding in dusk/dark environments at normal speeds. I would say that the beam for the headlight is equivalent to any single headlight on a motor vehicle, and it does the job of illuminating the path ahead very nicely. At no point walking or riding my bike did I feel like I would be unprepared for an obstruction on the road, or distracted by imperfections in the beam pattern. The modes for this light are fairly limited. You can cycle through 4 options by single pressing the only button on it, which range from "bright" to "dim." If you double press the button, you will get a strobe light, if you long press it, you will get "super bright" for 15 seconds. The "dim light" setting is suggestively rated at 100 lumens, and this is scarcely better than a cell phone and functionally useless for any application here. In situations where it might be handy, you'd just bring out your cell phone, and if you have this in your hand, you can more than double the lumen output to (suggested) 240 lumens by using the "low light" mode or use one of the brighter options. Even then, 240 lumens is fairly low. For uses on things like nightly walk or runs, the lumen range for a flashlight should be 300-900 lumens. Anything below 300 is more suitable for tasks like reading or rifling through the glove box. It does state that 36 hours of batter life on the dimmest setting, but to be honest, just charge your light and you don't have to worry about it.The two dimmest settings are also not very useful to be seen by either, and I would not recommend using them on a bike as they do not give enough illumination to safely ride. The lowest setting I would use on this is the "mid light" at 720 lumens. All things considered, there's room for improvement on the settings, but in the mid light, high light, and strobe settings, this is a good light to see by and be seen by.Turning to the taillight, this thing is a mixed bag. In terms of lumen outputs, I have cheap tailights that I got for $10 that are brighter, last just as long (as advertised anyway) and have similar light patterns for steady, flash, strobe, etc. In relation to the headlight in this bundle, the available modes are more useful, but I would not trust this light alone to protect my rear on a roadway. It is not bright enough and I don't like the angle of attachment to the seatpost. I suggested to my wife that we use it for our dog's collar, but if I were to use it on my bike it would be as a complimentary light, not the primary one. It's day time performance was particularly poor on sunny days. Do not trust this tail light to keep you safe by itself. It is not good to be seen by.Overall, for a white labeled light, you could do worse. The price point is relatively in line with what I would expect for a similar headlight from reputable brand, but nothing about this light set really stands out in the sea of other generic LED lights. I would put most of the value of this set on the headlight and think of the tail light as a little ad on rather than essential to the purchase price. I would highly recommend getting a better taillight if you do buy this kit - there are plenty out there that provide better daytime visibility and are affordable in the $10-$15 range if you don't want to get something fancy.

This is a solidly constructed light with an IP65 sealed aluminum case and a Garmin-style quarter-turn mount. The relatively narrow beam pattern is roughly square with a very strong center hot-spot and relatively sharp cutoff on the top, bottom and both sides. In practice, it is a useful beam that provides good illumination of the road ahead without blinding oncoming traffic. There is a small amount of spill to the sides for side visibility. But I would prefer a bit more illumination to the sides when riding on darker country roads. The battery level indicator displays 0-100%. This is a great feature for winter commuting which is usually in the dark and often in weather cold enough to affect battery performance. At -5° C, I got about 3-1/2 hours of run-time on the High setting. Unlike other lights which don’t warn you until they are about to go dark, the level indicator on this one provides a reliable real-time indication of how much battery you have left.

It is winter time here in my area so I will have to wait for warmer weather to test it in my bicycle. Meanwhile I have used it on my snow blower. The light is awesome! It’s very bright and has a great illumination pattern. As always every product I have purchased from this manufacturer has exceeded expectations! I look forward to new innovative products in the future.
