Troubleshooting and Maintenance Tips

  • Check for Clogs: Inspect and clean filters, drain baskets, and the drain hose to prevent clogs.
  • Inspect the Drain Pump: Listen for unusual noises and ensure the pump is working properly. Remove any debris from the pump area.
  • Clean the Air Gap: Ensure the air gap is clear of debris to prevent backflow.
  • Verify Hose Connections: Make sure the drain hose and connections are secure and not kinked.
  • Test the Drain Valve: Ensure the drain valve is functioning properly and opening and closing as it should.

Common Issues

  • Dishwasher Not Draining: Often caused by clogs in the hose, pump, or filter. Check for blockages and clear them.
  • Water Backing Up: Could be due to a problem with the air gap or check valve. Inspect these components for issues.
  • Slow Draining: Might indicate a partially clogged drain hose or filter. Clean and inspect the components.

Exactly what I needed. This item does match kitchenaid model KDTM604KPS0. The part# is w11035709 or oem w11412291. I don’t really understand the dual part numbers but both are correct based on kitchenaid website and this seller. Says both on the both and says w11035709 on the part itself, just like the one that was faulty. We had the drainage code E1F9 I think it was and this part fixed that and I’m very happy about it.(Previously ordered a replacement from a different seller and the description unfortunately did not match the item sent and therefore did not fit, so was relieved this was accurate info)

Fixed my dishwasher drain problem and error message. Hopefully this pump lasts longer than 3 years, like the one in the 3 year old machine that it replaced

The pump was easy to install and fixed the problem with the dishwasher. The dishwasher did need to be set on its back to get to the pump but it's simply a matter of disconnecting the wiring plug and giving the pump a quarter turn and it comes right out. Putting in the new one is just as easy, just a reverse of the removal. It's been a few months now and the dishwasher is still working fine. Lets hope this one lasts longer than the original one did.

This part was an exact match and the install only takes about 5-10 mins depending on how quickly you can pull out your dishwasher and put it back in place. The part itself takes a few seconds to install and solved our issue

Have a Kitchenaid KDPM604KPS, was getting the E1F9 code , checked all the drainage lines and filter everything was clear after reading other reviews went ahead and purchased this pump. Fixed the problem been running several cycles and have no codes. Just an FYI this is the exact same OEM that was installed in the dishwasher from the manufacturer. Wasn’t difficult to change out, just the pain of having to pull out the dishwasher to replace it !
