We ordered a Melissa and Doug train set for our kids (1 yr and 3 yrs) and while reviewing websites for track layout ideas, came across these clips which hold the track joints together. We hoped these clips would help the tracks stay together so we wouldn't need to glue the tracks in place and limit the kids' creativity. The clips fit the Melissa and Doug tracks perfectly and they are a bit flexible so that they will accommodate different track widths easily. They are similar in color to the unfinished wood tracks so that they disappear which is also helpful nice they don't attract our little guy to pull them apart. One end of the clips has small arms that extend so that they can hold pieces like bridges together that have a wide base with regular track pieces. The clips do hold the track joints together well and are particularly helpful with holding together height changes in track layouts where the pieces often pull apart during play even with care. Our little guy can pick up the track and shake it apart with the clips, but it takes more effort and since the clips keep the track together well during normal play, the kids are much less likely to become frustrated with separated tracks and the track layouts last much longer. We ordered one pack to try them and recommend at least two for your average train table layout. Would definitely buy again.

I was very skeptical about forking out the money for these. My only regret is that I should have gotten four boxes to start with. I have twin two year olds. They LOVE their Thomas table and tracks but were constantly taking the tracks apart. At first I just chalked it up to part of the fun, but after reconstructing tracks for the 200th time I decided I would apply a little wood glue to make my life easier. I came across this product by accident. I purchased two boxes. This worked for holding the entire outer track of the table in place. I couldn't believe how well these worked and the boys are more into their trains then ever since they are no longer waiting on me to get the tracks back together. I went ahead and order two more boxes. All tracks are now secure with the exception of one bridge. I may use a little wood glue on that one. This is the only item the tracks did not fit on. I have about 6 clips left over but I figure I will need replacements at some point so I am fine with that. Absolutely amazing product. Easy for grown- ups to clip into place, but so far the boys have not succeeded in removing these treasures! Well worth the money. If you have the full size Thomas table, get 3-4 boxes!

I am so happy to have ordered these clips. Our son got into trains at about 18-months of age. He was not old enough to use the train set carefully, and he often lifted up on the track pieces, taking them apart. This would lead to him crying in frustration. I considered nailing or gluing the pieces down, but I didn't want to remove any future chance of changing the track layout. When he's older, I want him to be able to apply his creativity and build his own layout. These clips have allowed me to set up the track in a fun configuration while preserving the flexibility to revise it (which I've done several times after buying new components). They clips stay in place very well, they cause no interference with the trains' wheels, and they're easy to put on. What a simple invention, what a positive impact!

I recently bought an Imaginarium train table and train set for my son for his 3rd birthday. It has an elevated part that doesn't stay together well at all and fell apart whenever he tried to use it. The real problem though was his 16-month-old brother, who would tear the entire set apart every time he came near it. Then both would be hitting each other with track pieces.I realized in short order we had no choice but to secure the track somehow, but I HATED the idea of making it permanent. I plan on adding some Thomas pieces in the near future, and didn't want the table/track to be ruined with nail holes or glue. When I went online looking for alternative do-it-yourself methods, I stumbled across the Suretrack Clips. At first I was hesitant to order them because:1) There was only one review of them on Amazon. Sure it was a glowing review, but it is difficult to judge a product based on one person's opinion.2) I had never seen them or heard of them before. If they're so great, shouldn't everyone be using them?3) I have off-brand track. The manufacturer lists several brands of track the clips are compatible with (including the ever-popular Brio and Thomas) but not mine.In the end, I ordered two boxes, and boy am I glad I did! They work great! It took me about 10 minutes to do our whole train set, and after that my 16-month old played with the set for nearly an hour without breaking apart a single piece (previous record was literally under two minutes). I am really amazed that something so simple and non-destructive to the set can work so well.I do have some advice though. Because the product is relatively inexpensive, shipping for one box can be as much as 70% of the price of the item itself. And if you're clipping the whole train set, you're likely to need more than one box anyway. So go ahead and save on shipping by figuring out how many boxes you'll need and ordering them all at once.Alternatively, you can just clip the elevated parts of your train set, because these are the pieces that fall apart the most. In this case, you can probably get away with one box.
