It needs additional unthreaded length beyond the control lever. It was fine until I tightened the shower head fitting to it and bent the control lever shaft.

I needed this to control the water pressure and help conserve hot water in my apartment. I attached it to my showerhead. The lever is easy to adjust while showering. My apartment has a small water heater tank and the shower did not have the type of knobs to control the water pressure. So my hot water would run at full pressure and barely last 5 mins. With this valve I'm able to reduce the water pressure or even stop the water temporarily without having to adjust the temperature again. Now I can get more than 20 mins of hot water with this simple fix. Matched my bronze shower head very well too.

This was simple to install and worked just as I hoped. Now I can easily turn on and off my showerhead without having to turn off the hot and cold and mess up the temperature. I also use it to prevent the drip, drip, drip that I would notice at night. My hot and cold valves are old, probably originals form when the house was built in the 70's. Sometimes they drip very slowly. Anyway, I am very pleased with this product.

I put this with an additional shower hose leading to the hand-held shower head. I put it in because I’m having foot surgery soon and want an easy way to turn off water flow after I adjust to the right temperature and easily use the shower head while sitting on a shower seat. This piece is solidly built and operates very smoothly.

The valve works fine. But it came with it’s shutoff handle loosely attached and ready to fall off. It has a set screw that was not tight. Once I tightened the set screw for the handle with a 2 mm Allen wrench all is well.
