About Swagman "Ride, paddle, explore: seek your adventure" That philosophy was the intention of founders Jim and Jan Morris who saw an opportunity to create a better way to transport your bike back in the early 90’s. Swagman was one of the first companies worldwide to design and market a hitch style bike rack. Over the years, that small bike rack company based in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia grew to include numerous other ground breaking designs in the North American Bicycle, RV and Automobile markets.

This installed easily on my Camper's bumper and holds our 3 bike rack nicely. I bought this unit because it has a bolt that tightens against whatever it is you are hitching and helps to keep it from jarring around in the receiver. That is important to help keep the twisting and bouncing motion of whatever you are carrying from turning in a leaver that could end up giving you a bad day. It's done a great job so far.Be sure your RV Bumper is in good physical shape and that it is designed to carry weight. Many are not.

Très solide et assez pesant. J'ai acheté cet adapteur pour installer un rack à vélo pour 2 bicyclettes. J'estime que cet item est plus adapté pour 4 vélos. Mais vaut mieux + solide que moins.

Easy to bolt on. Seems pretty rock solid once tightened. Includes an anti-wobble bolt to tighten the fit of your bike rack in the receiver. Perfect for a non-folding 2" receiver-mount bike rack on the back of your trailer or RV, as long as you have a standard 4" square steel bumper. It's only rated for 2 bikes, which is fine for our purposes. For additional piece of mind, I'll run a cable through the bike frames and through the ladder and trailer frame so if, by some miracle, the bumper breaks, at least the bikes shouldn't tumble back under a following vehicle!

Product was great, but as with others, our bumper wasn't up to the added weight. We have a 2007 Springdale 299, manufactured by Keystone. We researched Keystone's website and found a reference to using a bike rack on the back bumper, so we thought we were good to go. On our return trip from the Oregon Coast we were about 50 miles into the loaded trip when we heard rhythmic scratch sounds. My wife looked back and shouted that we were sparking! Sure enough, the bumper "tore apart" at the welds and our bike rack which we had inserted into the bumper adapter was scraping the pavement. Luckily we were still in the "wet" forests of western Oregon and nothing bad happened. Our load when the bumper broke was a Tow Tuff cargo carrier with two adult bikes and two kids bikes. Our bumper, which wasn't strong enough, was factory made, 4" square and 1/4" or 3/16" thick metal. You would need a heavier duty bumper to use this product.

I bought this so we could use our receiver hitch bike rack on the rear of our Hybrid Expandable Camper. The bumper was 4" square, and this worked great. I had to mount it on the underside of the bumper however since there wasn't enough clearance on the top side. I also had to slide the spare tire holder down to one end. I use an extended receiver hitch and a slip over bike rack so I can extend the rack out beyond the spare tire.I worked great. I will keep an eye on the welds for the bumper. It seems very sturdy, but I've read that some aren't welded as good as others and there can be a lot of torque with the weight of 3-bikes hanging out 24-30" to the rear.

I can only echo what others have said. The quality is very good, the cost is reasonable, and it worked like a charm. If you came to this item because you need/want something like this then look no more, just buy this and problem solved! On a side note, and this is not to do with the item, I had to wrestle with positioning of it on the bumper trying to get the bikes centered. Also my spare tire mount essentially limited my bike carrier to 3 bikes vs. 4. I probably could have gotten all 4 on but for me it was easier to put the smallest bike in the bed of the truck.

I purchased this for use on the back of our Coachmen Travel Trailer. Installation was a breeze. However, when using our bike rack, I found that I had to drill another hole in the bike rack to accommodate how far back the hitch pin hole is on this thing. Just be cognizant that you may need to do the same with whatever hauler/rack you are putting into this little thing. Otherwise, a good, solid product.

We just completed a 400-mile trip with the Swagman bike rack mount on our trailer bumper, carrying two bicycles. The mount performed flawlessly, and I had no worries about it not being capable of supporting the loaded rack. The unit is heavy, welded steel which, with the torque the rack imposes on the receiver, is essential. That torque is also why the RV bumper must be continuously welded. The front to back space between the bolts is about 3/8" more than our bumper width. I'm going to keep an eye on the snugness to see if a shim may be necessary. One thing I would do differently would be to mount the unit so the receiver is under the bumper, instead of on top. That would lower the rack 4" and make it a bit easer to mount the bikes.

This took me about 15 minutes to install. It is a good solid receiver hitch. I use if for my hitch hauler and bike rack. I don't plan on putting more than 3 bikes on the bike rack, or a generator and cooler on the hitch hauler. So far it has worked great! One reviewer said that the hole for the pin was too small for a hitch pin? He must have got a different one than I did? Mine is compatible with the standard size hitch pin.

This works great for the intended purpose we used it to hook on a bike rack for 4 bikes. The adapter worked perfectly but the bike rack failed! We just about lost our bikes on the freeway in Oklahoma when the bike rack bend badly when going over bad roads (yes that you have to PAY FOR to drive on in Oklahoma) Our bikes were badly damaged to the point that one (costing over $500) was not usable. We are leary to put bikes back on the back of the RV but it was the bike rack not the adapter that failed.Just make sure and pay the extra $ for a good bike rack and don't buy the cheap ones. This adapter is very strong heavy metal and holds completely secure. We have driven 1000's of miles and it is still as solid as can be. Maybe we will use it to hold our clothesline now instead of bikes. Anyone know of a GOOD bike rack to buy???
