- Flaccid foot drop after neurological impairment
- Moderate spastic equinus foot
Application and Care Instructions
Application Instructions:
The Alpha Medical Swedish Style AFO has been designed to be as easy as possible to put on and take off. This helps minimize preparation time so the support fits quickly into your daily routine. Insert the Alpha Medical Swedish Style AFO into the shoe. Put the shoe on with the Alpha Medical Swedish Style AFO already inserted. Fasten the padding on the calf. Pull the Velcro strap around the calf.
Care Instructions:
Hand wash the calf pad in lukewarm water with neutral soap, then rinse thoroughly and dry away from heat. When you wash the plastic section of the Alpha Medical Swedish Style AFO, simply wipe with a sponge soaked in a solution of warm water and neutral detergent, then dry it with a cloth.

Using a hair dryer and a small Irwin Qwik-clamp*, I was able to snug up the leg fitting and footbed to give me a perfect fit. I wear a slip-on shoe, which makes it a bit tricky to get on, and I also plan to make a hook for the back of my shoe heel to keep it locked in

I ordered both the left and right foot at the same time from the same vendor, yet they came from two different locations and were shipped differently (one came to the Amazon locker, the other came in the USPS regular mail). Since we didn't know it was being brought to the front door by the mailman, we didn't know we had to be home. Fortunately, we were. That was an unpleasant surprise.You should know that driving is unsafe with the AFOs on. You can't press the pedals correctly since the AFO keeps you from pointing your toes down. Depending on your medical condition, either put the AFOs on when you arrive at your destination, or have someone else drive you.But the AFO itself works great and I haven't fallen with them on. But don't get overconfident!

I have what is called dead foot. I have to wear a brace to walk. This brace is good quality and is comfortable. My only complaint is the strap going around my leg is meant for a huge leg! I have to stuff the 5 inches in to the strap or it hangs. It's a good buy and I will purchase it again.

It seems like a decent quality, however, unless you have skinny calves, don't buy this brace. The calf section is really narrow. Just about fits my arm. See photos.

Orthopedic surgeon recommended me wearing one of these for awhile. This was only brand that would work in men’s size 15. Feels thin but didn’t break. Padding is awkward with strap being too long without a second Velcro strip so needed to be shortened. Plastic was a little sharp on back of ankle but after some cloth tape it was fine. It’s in expensive, arrived quickly and was as described. Good product for short term use

I bought this product for drop foot after several back surgeries. I do like that it has a padded calf strap and that it does not go all the way up to my knee like my other one does. This one hits right below my calf muscle. The reason I gave it one stars is that the foot part and the heel is very narrow. So narrow that it is cutting into my foot on both sides of my heel. Unless you have very narrow feet, this will not be comfortable at all.
