I got a new liner this year and wanted to make sure the stairs wouldn't hurt it so I bought this. It holds under the stairs very well. I left it in the sun for a while to get rid of the wrinkles from shipping and it sat flat and still at the bottom of my pool for over a month. If you have rough ground under your liner and the stairs hit the bottom, I would buy this as another layer of protection.

This little mat works great. It doesn't slide around or just float when the pool ladder leaves the pool. It provides extra protection for our pool floor when the kids are constantly climbing in and out of the pool.
