I originally got this for my family’s skis as a basic tuner, but after using it, I found that it’s on par with shop edge grinder quality.

For a quick tune, this tool does an okay job but the file often moves out of place especially when set for the base sharpening setting. With the Swix name, I expected this tool to work seamlessly.

I actually have 2 of these tools. One is set for the base angle and the other for the side angle. Makes edge sharpening quick and easy to do.

Pictured device looks like it’s specced for 89/90 degree edge work but the one they actually send you is 87/88 degree one which makes it unsuitable for most existing edges.

after my skin season, I got this one for sharpenning my skis. it is good to sharpen the ski and easy to use. But the knife(I dont know the name of the dimmond part) cannot be fixed very well. It may move during edging the skis. I think this is why it is a small, portable ski edger. it is worthwhile under this price. If you want to have a better time with an edger during first time, the red one(more expensive) should be a better choice. This one is good enough for my skis.

Pictures are inaccurate, this sharpener can only do 87 and 88 degrees for edges and 1 and 0.5 degrees base. Better than most but needed one that could do 89 degrees.Also the material feels somewhat flimsy and the base sharpener scratches the board
