This bulb works well in my 400 watt metal halide fixtures. The old bulbs were approx. 11 years old and had lost approx. 50% of their brightness. These new bulbs brought my brightness level back to normal.

Just got my 400 watt metal halide build and transformer hooked up into my old lamp and let me tell you that is the brightest thing I have ever seen. You have to wear torch goggles to look at it. Excellent price and great quality.

This bulb works perfectly in my fixture. I would say that it is a very bright white color and light output looks the same as any other bulb I have used. I am very pleased with the price and WILL update this review if I have any longevity issues.UPDATE: I used this bulb for over two years without a problem. It lights off quickly and it's bright. The color is pleasing. It was still working fine when we sold the house.

Color has a significant green cast, not really anywhere close to natural white. It's not worth $12.38 to live with it, will order something else.

The bulb was well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. There are at least 2 different lengths of tip on these bulbs.This one did not work at first in my light fixture. After investigation and getting a bulb from the local Lowe's, I found the tips are of differnt lengths. The fixture I have required a longer tip. This bulb, and the one's sold at Lowe's, did not reach the electric contact.I resolved the problem by soldering a large drop of solder on the tip so it would reach the contact. All is good now. This bulb was $10 cheaper than at Lowe's. I didn't see a different model bulb yet with the longer tip. There wasn't a model number on the buld that burned out. It did last 6 years of periodic use.

after spending a lot of money on led lights and expensive hps bulbs I was able to find very good comments about this particular light bulb, I'm very happy with sylvania and the BT37 I have not tried any other name brands but I am comparing it to hps lightbulbs that cost much more, don't waste your money on cfls, leds, or hps, the metal halide bulbs run cooler, try it and you'll see, and the quality of light is amazing, every living thing responds to the metal halide, it did not work with my digital ballast but it worked with my old workhorse magnetic ballast.

First, received bulbs in a used box from another item (very unprofessional).Then opened it, little bubble wrap on top (which did absolutely nothing).Then open the two boxes with light bulbs.One contained 4 bulbs with alot of open space to move and *no* bubble wrap at all.Second contained 6 bulbs and both boxes were full of shards and tiny pieces of broken glass!Still trying to clean up the mess that fell all over my office!I can't imagine sending out bulbs in that packaging and also without fragile being written on box.Next time will look for a different supplier.

worked great last year and this year untill to day it broke put it was a good price just thought it would last alittle longer
