Without complete documentation I figured 22x30 would mount correctly between my 24" OC roof trusses. It does not.Documentation contained with the item indicates this needs 25 1/2" of space between trusses to be correctly installed. It's well made and packaged but if you have 24" OC trusses you'll be disappointed with this product. I suppose you could force it but then you'll end up with a lumpy ceiling.

I give the access door 5 stars because it is well made, well packaged and delivered quickly. I contacted customer service and was told a 22 x 30 would fit between 24" on center trusses. It does not. This product is designed to fit into a hole cut into drywall, not attach to studs or trusses. It would have been helpful if the instructions would have been available before purchase.I made it work, but it isn't pretty. I am guessing that a 20 inch would have worked properly.

We did a remodel and what was an ugly typical attire access in a utility room ended up being in the middle of the dining/living room. Put this in textured and painted It and you don't notice it unless you look for it. I'd looked at other that had a flange or frame around the outside. Not this one, nothing shows once it is installed but a 1/16' gapBe careful of your installation location though. This is made to be cut into unframed drywall. Look at some of the installation videos. If you will be putting it between joists or rafters you will have to do some notching to get it in. Just a precaution, you don't want to go cutting into roof trusses. That will weaken them and could cause them to fail (fail as in roof cave in)
