The scabbard is poor quality. Only made for left hand use and it’s hard to get the sword in and out. But I did get so many compliments on the sword itself at the Renaissance faire. Many people commented that they paid much more for their swords and mine was better.

I'll start with the bad, the fit and finish of the handle looks like it was done by 7th graders, as well the handle profile is quite thick. The blade is thin and I think they could have done better then a nylon sheath. That said, it was easy to disassemble, I sanded down the handle profile and filed in a better fit for both the hilt & guard before giving it a lite protective coating. Note: Not a lot of sparks were produced when sharpening, so the carbon content of the steel is low. With about an hour of elbow grease, it now looks decent as an unsheathed display piece for under $50. Would I recommend it....probably not, I would spend more and get a nicer quality piece, but if $$ is tight and your decently handy, then it can be a fun little project sword.

Sword arrived exactly as described. Blade is fairly clean with no blemishes. Using for purely aesthetic purposes and it will work beautifully. Not for sparring or actual use other than a prop or decoration.

Very nice and well made. Four well deserved stars; was tempted to give Five stars, but I give Five stars only for perfection in craftsmanship. The larger version of this sword was very well made and well finished Five starrer; this one not so.They did not finish the all wood handle grip well. It is still squarish; nothing that a few hours of lovin' sanding can not shape into how you like it. Actually I like it that I can shape the wood grip to my liking. The handle is not the same proportion as shown in the picture - it is much shorter. but still good length for a good grip.Is not sharp - has about a 1mm wide edge. So will need grinding and then whetting to sharpen. The sheath is good but needs snap on buttons to hold the sword in place. Soon as they weaken you will have to replace them or the sword will drop out and cut your heel. I guess they had a choice between loose button less sheath or this snug fit but buttoned version. I do like it snug but will make sure I think up some secondary form of securing the sword in case the buttons pop.A great buy for the price. I would recommend it. A must buy for collectors who are handy with tools.

Ok. This product because of the low cost left me with very little in terms of expectations, but was blown away. The product is well made, although not sharp, but was more than worth the money that was spent.

I’ve bought dozens of swords.(true, but shameful). I admit I am no expert.Maybe this is a conceit but I believe I can tell when I’ve got my moneys worth. So that’s where I’m coming from. The following is only my opinion. You can take it from there, believe what you want to believe. It’s stainless steel. It’s not sharpened.I don’t like scimitars. I bought it because it was cheap and looked wicked. In a moment of madness,I guess you could say. These are the facts. The rest,as you were forewarned, are not. The scabbard alone is worth the purchase price. If the blade were carbon steel and sharpened,(it is full tang, that’s another fact)this would be a $300 sword.Minimum.When I took it from the box,I could not remember buying it(not unusual,I’m afraid). It’s much larger than I expected and much more expensive looking than I would pay for a scimitar,a style I don’t even like.I thought there must have been a mistake and when I reviewed my orders, was dumbfounded at the price.Stainless steel can be sharpened although it won’t retain an edge as long as carbon. It’s probably what you’ve been carving your roasts with. And with a full tang, you can confidently whack away at things:shrubbery, roasts, neighbors, what have you.Or you can hang it on the wall. It’s pretty beautiful in an unassuming way. That’s just my opinion, though, too.

wood handle poorly done, doesn't fit right, scabbard left handed, no choice offered, clasp at top won't lock because scabbard doesn't fit the scimitar. The scimitar will work from a distance for looks, that's about it.

Good for display. But its rather light compared to what you would think. Its not at all sharp, though it has a point. Mine was sturdy in its hilt, however there was a chip near the end of the sword. The hilt is a plastic that looks and feels like a varnished wood (there were small chips in the "wood" handle as well). The metal cross guard, and pommel look good. The sheath is a fake leather, and is awkward to draw the sword from or place back in, there are three buttons that hold the sword in, on mine the hilt was too thick for the top button to latch. But hey its more for a wall piece anyways. It looks good for the price, you get what you pay for.

I bought the sword about a week ago, and it came in super quick, and is great quality! I wish it was actually sharp, but other than that, it is a great sword for display! I love it, and am very happy with this purchase.

Solid display piece. And they ship it without the false edge of so many wall hangers so if you are of a mind to sharpen it you have a nice blank slate to work with.

This sword is a good size and have a good weight to it. The handle is solid wood, the curve ofthe blade look good, and the guard is good size too. The sheath is hardened leather, the sheath has three straps with metal buttons to secure the sword.
