Worked on with 1/2" drywall, but when there was the weight of a 5/8" on it, it flattened out instead of lifting. So if your doing your basement once, this will work for you, but if you want to make money with it, get yourself a sturdier one of this style. This one is cheap because it's made cheaply with soft metals

the only issue i have with this is the welds could be better and they could reinforce the angle a little more. first day of use and i bent my brand new one flat. but with one quick pressure press with it flipped upside down against the corner of a stair step i was able to bend it back. when i have the time i plan on re welding the stress points to hopefully have it take my weight plus extra pressure if the board is a little too snug. gotta give it four stars because just a little thicker in the angle would be nice. i will say if i wasn't trying to force a snug board up into a recess edge i would've probably not flattened it like i did but still no harm and its the best kicker I've ever used just because it goes right back in my tool belt pouch when i'm screwing in the floor side. its just so handy having something that isn't so long. You know what it still deserves 5 stars.

I needed a smaller size kicker to keep in my tool bag for time saving and these fit. I even use them with the full size boards when My Heavy duty kickers are misplaced. LOL

Works as designed, it is the right tool for the job.I also used this tool to reinstall entry doors. You have not experienced frustration until you attempt to reinstall a pre-hung door by yourself. This tool made lifting the door and aligning the hinges to reinstall the hinge pins an easy one person job.The tool is made from a fairly heavy gauge steel.Delivery was on time and intact.
