What an excellent little unit! Note, this device is really for the little tabletop charcoal grills, as you need somewhere to rest the drivetrain end of the device, including the motor, which can't sit on a hot grill. I used a single gas burner bar, and positioned the rotisserie so that the skewers were over the burner, while the motor was away from the heat, protected by the hotplate, and a silicone sheet. The rack is simple to assemble, sturdy, and adjusts to any length of skewer. The slots in the rack are quite close together, so you'll need small pieces on the skewers, or like me, use every second one to cook four at a time, otherwise they'll get stuck on each other and will slip on the skewers, particularly if you're using metal skewers. The motor is quiet and strong. Even when I piled a seven large skewers on the rack that got stuck on each other, the motor kept the skewers turning with no problem. The USB C socket is a brilliant idea! Instead of messing around with AA batteries, I just plugged in a power bank. The whole cook used less than 1% of the power bank's charge. Amongst all the pros, the only slight con, I guess, is that the motor housing is plastic, without much by way of heat mitigation. It can't be left to hang out over the side of the BBQ, because the drivetrain and motor are the heaviest part, so the rack will tip off the grill unless you fixed the other end down somehow. The skewer holders are excellent, with really nice three jaw chucks on the end that easily clamp on to any sized skewers and hold on firmly. Overall, I'm really pleased with this thing and I see it getting a lot of use.

It's good quality and very solid when built. I like that it uses a chain to drive the skewers. I was using this to cook Greek souvlakis and was only able cook 4 at time instead of 7 as there is not much room between each slot. A little fiddly to put together but easy enough. It does give a very nice even cook but only being able to cook 4 at time is not very efficient. For thin kebabs it would work great.

This auto rotate kebab kit arrived in a lot of pieces. I didn't expect to have to put the whole thing together, but assembly isn't difficult - there are just a lot of pieces to put together. You have a choice of using 3 AAA batteries or plugging it into power with a USB cable. I don't love the idea of having batteries right next to the grill surface, and if you use power, you'll have to run an extension cord to your grill. But I do think running a power cord is the safer option. Power issues aside, I like this little contraption! It turns my kebabs for me so that I don't need to do it myself. One issue though is that if you have pretty hefty loaded kebabs, you have to use every other skewer or they will bump into each other. Still, I don't have to turn my kebabs!
