I really like this ratchet belt. It looks neat, can be adjusted to custom fit your waist and give you a put together appearance. Regular belts start to degrade every time you put the buckle prong into the hole. The hole starts to stretch and the leather around the hole begins to separate, leaving you looking shabby. I doubt I will ever buy a regular belt again. This belt from Jane Luxury Store is made from very good quality materials. They come in several sizes that can be cut to your specific needs. There are even marks on the back side of the belt to help you cut your belt to the proper size for you. The belt can be adjusted in 1/4” increments to give you a perfect fit. You can’t get that with a traditional belt.

I switched to ratchet belts a decade ago. If you're unfamiliar, a ratchet belt doesn't have a series of holes with a metal prong in the buckle to set the size. Instead, the buckle has a ratchet mechanism that interacts with indentations on the back of the buckle. This allows a perfect fit every time-- not too snug, not too loose. The buckle is a brushed black metal that works in both formal and casual situations. The belt is made of leather and is also attractive. The issue with every ratchet belt I've owned over the past decade is that the belt is made of a number of leather sections that are melded together, and after a period, the seams where the lether sections are joined begin to come visible, and eventually they begin to fray. Usually, I get 2-3 years out of a ratchet belt before the leather starts to disintegrate, but given the price, I'm fine with replacing them every 2-3 years. Of course, this one may be different and last much longer, but I'll assume it performs like the others I've owned. It looks far more expensive than its $20 price tag would lead you to expect. Very happy with this ratchet belt.

This Jane Luxury Mens Formal Wear Belt is my first experience with a ratcheting belt of this type, and so far I am impressed. The leather used on this belt is heavier than most belts, especially at this price point, and the buckle is heavy steel with a very attractive finish. There are also no burrs or rough or sharp edges. I like the fact that this belt comes in a variety of sizes, and it can be purchased in a longer size and cut down using pre-marked cut lengths. That feature eliminates one problem I always have with buying belts, especially online, which is getting the size exactly right. One piece of advice, though--when cutting it down, be conservative because it is always possible to cut again but not to add the cut part back. The only question I have about this belt is how well it will hold up to extended use. The belt is held tight by a plastic strip with indents in it that is imbedded in the back of the belt. What I wonder about is whether the plastic will wear and consequently fail to hold over time. Right now it holds well, and I see no signs of a problem, so hopefully it will work for a long time. Overall, this is a great, five star belt, especially for the price, and I recommend it. If I have any problems later on, I will come back and revise this review.

One of life's little gifts has been the invention of the ratcheting belt. I dont know anyone who's waist size is exactly the size of one of the 5 or 6 notches that come with a standard belt so you're either a little loose, a little tight or making a new notch...and thats if your waist doesnt move a millimeter. Impossible. Ratcheting belts are incredible. They have dozens of settings and when you have that big Thanksgiving dinner...you can loosen it up a bit but as you lose weight you can tighten the belt one small increment at a time. Win. This belt in particular has a nice buckle. It's nice enough that I will wear this to work and nobody is going to notice I'm wearing a $13 belt instead of a $30 belt. The leather is solid enough that this isnt going to snap or fray anytime soon. I can attest after having cut the belt to size. You can also buy a belt meant for someone with a range of sizes and cut it down on the buckle size. Simple pry the lock up, cut the belt to size (and it has measurements on it - thank you) then put the buckle back on...done. That simple. I put it next to another belt I own that's similar but was twice as much and I can tell a little side by side but nobody is going to notice. It's solid, great ratcheting action, easy to get the belt off though not so cheap it flips off when in use (which I have had happen with cheap belts) and it'll work. Back to the office? No need to struggle through the old notched belts or spend a fortune. This is a great belt at this price. Worth buying several.

I think this belt is suffering from a bit of an identity crisis. I say it in a humorous way because it is more of a tactical style belt, but comes packaged like a luxury gift. Seriously though, the company really did do a great job with presentation as it’s packed in a nice box and inserted in a cloth type bag.The belt itself seems very solidly made to me. The rugged nylon material feels very strong and the buckle like clamp has a heavy metal feel to it. The “teeth” that will hold the belt in place at the desired length, grip the belt well, and hold it firmly in place.Since the belt can be cut to length if needed, I made sure to order one size up in case it ran small, but I believe the belt”s measurements run true to size. While this style belt can go with more casual wear such as jeans or outdoor adventure type wear, I think it will also serve well as a work duty belt. With the ability to tighten it to an exact fit, rather then preset holes, it will likely work well if you have to use this belt to support another belt with gear, or to clip on tools or other items.A very versatile option for a rugged/outdoor adventure/work belt.
