The bag has a spacious, lightly padded inner pouch for holding the handgun, however that pouch has no retention for the handgun, or an ability to even close the pouch via velcro.There are ample spaces for magazines inside the pouch, which is nice, but the fact that even a duty size gun just free floats around in there is a real downside for this bag.
