This is a fine set up for water filtering for certain uses. The quality is as about as great as you can expect for a product like this with an intended use like this. This is not something I recommend for most people in the woods. I believe it’s more likely geared towards everyday joggers and that sort of thing. The positives here is that these are practically weightless and can fold up into nothing. The cons are that they don’t make for the greatest drinking experience, they’re fickle, and they’re flimsy.

Functions as described, leak proof, great water intake, super taste, outstanding bottle quality, steal if a deal for the price.

This is a great way to gather and filter water from running sources. It is more of an emergency filter but can be pushed into camping use if necessary. The filter does a good job of not allowing leaks that could contaminate water storage. Highly recommended.

First of all this is at a good price. Next I like how you remove the filter and drinking part before you dunk the thing into the water. With some filters you contaminate the drinking - mouth piece while you fill the filter bottle. With this one you remove it first, keeping it free of contamination. With a 265 gallon capacity this can save your life. With the recent disasters in the US, these can literally be a life saver and provide your family with clean drinking water until help comes - which can take some time.I was in multiple hurricanes in NY where the infrastructure was down for 2 to 3 weeks. Some neighborhoods took much longer to restore. This would have been great to have.

The Tactiko 20 ounce filtered water bottle is a useful addition to my back pack. Water is the most essential need in a survival situation and this system covers that need. In non-survival scenarios it provides all the water a person or two need may need when hiking or camping away from clean water sources. It’s lightweight and appears to be durable. The second bottle is a nice feature, doubling the water I can carry. With a 1,000 liter capacity it will last a very long time in its intended role. It includes a cleaning tool to maintain the filter efficiency and a carabiner for attachment to your gear. This is a complete solution to your hydration needs away from a potable water source. It is well made and competitively priced, making it a good value I can readily recommend.

The size of this thing makes it incredibly handy to have and store in a number of places: backpack for hiking, duffel bag for emergencies, or in the trunk of your car for that matter. Very handy when hiking or camping. The bag and filter work very well and do the job it’s designed for. Water tastes pretty good after being run through it.

This is an amazing filter. It is simple to use and very functional. It is a great value and can hold a large amount of water. The bags are thick and durable.

I would not take this for long term hiking. It does not appear with its 20 ounce capacity to be designed for that anyway. Maybe it might be useful for a day hike where you remember this but forgot your canteen, or for car trips where you do not trust municipal water systems and want to make sure you have access to good tasting carbon filtered water on the go. This might be good for that. It is essentially one step different than water bottles with a central filter. Those hard, often insulated portable water bottles would certainly last longer than this one, though they most often filter for taste and this filter does more. This Tactiko Survival has a micron filter that promises to remove bacteria and impurities. The included instructions claim to filter to 0.1 micron and "99.99 % effective against bacteria, protozoa and cysts". However, Step One of the instructions say to to fill the collapsible bottle with tap water or natural fresh water, then insert the filter etc...Not entirely reassuring. Not what we buy this for. But this is not designed very well in any case. The filter is as far as I can tell, standard, but fits only this bottle with its proprietary threaded lid inserts into the proprietary non standard top. At least it seems to seal tight with no leaks. The water bottles, well the main one and an extra I suppose if one springs a leak? The extra bottle is useless but for replacement. If this came with two caps it could at least be used for water in reserve. But no. It does also come with a carabiner clip and a cleaning brush that is not designed for this plastic bottle and does not fit or clean well. At best, I think this Tactiko Survival will just be kept in the bottom of my emergency kit as a last resort or perhaps for a trip to keep hydrated. But this is really nothing special and I really not impressed or happy with this.
