My sons loved this toy. They feed it and take care of it like a real child. It's now a couple years and they stay focused. For me it taught them a sense of responsibility.

Very pleased as a tamagotchi and Eva fan.- Super tiny and adorable shell- Cute/amusing Evangelion angels in pixel form- Simple, quick gameplay- Easy to use despite Japanese onlyI got Ramiel first try with good care. You can look up guides how to get specific characters and read the english instruction manual. The device has like 3 lines of Japanese in it, the rest is english. You can disable sound but no pause, but if you leave the clock in set mode this "pauses" the tama. However that's not necessary unless you just can't see the tama for long stretches of the day, I check it once every hour or two and it will just need a few clicks to get it back to fully taken care of.

Bought this as a gift for my boyfriend who loves Evangelion - he loves it! Such a cute thing to have as a fan. He didn't even want to take it out of the package (but did).

Big fan of evangelion and tamas, so an obvious choice. I went with the blue and white Rei model; came in perfect condition. I have other licensed nano tamas and they're a great series to easily have cute characters from your favourite fandom.

Basically you raise an angel and it's actually kind of cute. I really liked it for the time I played with it. It was fun. I got to see Shamshel. Unfortunately did not get to see Rameil, my beloved, but it's cool. Packed full of cute little screens for when you leave it alone for a bit. Such as Kaworu and Shinji hanging out, or Misato drinking, or Jet Alone just doing it's little virgin walk. All in all, pretty fun little tamagotchi.

So I'm not the biggest Tamagatchi fan, the last time I had one of these must have been in elementary school over 15 years ago. But I am a die hard Evangelion fan, so I NEEDED to have this before they eventually go out of production.I got a three colors, Kaworu, Asuka, and Tentative Rei. Of the three, I only opened the Tentative Rei one to see how one of these worked. The screen is small and shows the very cute pixel graphics and the buttons are very small and thus somewhat hard to press. Interacting with your Angel pet is very simple. In spite of this being a product in Japanese, the mechanics are easy to understand without instructions. If there's confusion, there are a couple of helpful blogs which cover these items.Overall, even if you don't wish to maintain your pet, the item is very high quality and the design of them is very appealing with each color scheme reflecting Evangelion characters. No major complaints here.

It's an Evangelion themed Tamagotchi. If that's what you want, that's what you're getting. The buttons are a tiny bit more resistant-to-being-pressed than I would have liked, but it's exactly what it says it is. It's really novel, in the sense that it's unlike other Tamagotchi in what it has to offer. You're cleaning LCL, not uh, eradicating angel poop. There are iconic scenes from Eva 1.11 in here too. Most of the angels are interesting or novel in how they "behave." It's not super difficult. There's an online manual available, which gives really clear instructions. There's a bit of a thing, though: if you haven't owned a Tamagotchi in a while or at all, at night you can "turn off the power transmission system," which is seemingly equivalent to "turning out the lights" when your angel is asleep. Functionally, this means you have a sleep mode during which time you don't have to worry too much about it.There are easter eggs too. The most notable thing is that you might guess that you'd be getting a specific character or character-related benefits from getting each individual one. That's not the case: each of the Evatchi are the same. You can "earn" your way to getting non-angel characters, but it's not the standard gameplay and there's no distinct change between each "case color/theme." Keep that in mind!

Here's what's up:-- it's not a full size Tamagotchi,it's a miniature one.I didn't know that meant it had no menu icons, nor that it wouldn't need them, because of how little you can do with it.You *DO* feed it one of two things, but there is no way to tell how much it needs, or what the effect is. Presumably, were you to do so to an insufficient extent, it would die, but there are no hearts or indicators of the status thereof. One food item, it seems to accept, infinitely; the other, it will only accept a certain amount in a given moment. You *DO* have two games you can play, but there is no way to tell if/when you "need" to play the games, nor any menu to review your progress, or the effect(s) that playing those games might have had.One game, Lances of Longinuss drop from the top of the screen & you're at the bottom, dodging them in a left, right, or center position - it's like a lo-fi hybrid of Galaga & Frogger. Good fun; dull quick. The other game is a "target" game where a target crosshair automatically cycles through a number of positions until it "finds" the enemy dead-center, at which point, you press the "B" (center) button. This is not really anything like having an FPS game on your Tamagotchi, but it *IS* very cool, because it's a really direct representation of Shinji's experiences initially training in Unit-01 in the anime, right down to the design of the crosshairs! Good fun; dull quick. No matter which game, it DOES NOT CHANGE depending on which Angel is currently in your Evacchi. It seems like a silly critique, because Tamagotchi & Digimon games remain the same despite evolutions, but they do change the character featured in those games to be the one you're currently raising, and that [Angel] just doesn't feature in the games on this device, at all, so they never change. Not only do they never change, but there is no way to tell what effect they are having on the Angel you're raising, because there's no effort meter or menu whatsoever. It's kind of a weird experience, because there are all of the eyebrow raising quirks I just mentioned, but none of them really interfere with what's going on, here, which is that Evangelion now has a line of v-pets, and that's just cool!Total bonus is, despite how ineffectual they are, those games are really kinda quality; I mean - what did you expect? and look at how great! The real value here is that this thing just actually exists; it's pretty groovy... that, and the SHELL, ITSELF! The physical unit is just gorgeous. Maybe pull the batteries & hang it on an Eva figure as a medallion...
