Any time I buy a Tamiya kit that has friction dampers, I get these to replace them. They may not be the absolute best on the market, but they are relatively inexpensive and are head and shoulders above friction dampers.

My lunchbox's stock shocks were a joke so I bought two packs of these and installed. Much better. I'd rather use these than aluminum Chinese shocks as I understand they are often not the correct length and there's actually some adjustment to length in these so you can get as close as possible to precisely what you want/need. Would buy again, they haven't failed and were relatively easy to construct.

Look like Tamiya CVA's, smell like Tamiya CVA's, taste like Tamiya CVA's... great little upgrade or replacement shocks for your RC car.

These plastic shock absorbers have been produced for over thirty years. It is a shame that Tamiya still does not make these standard in their kits such as the Midnight Pumpkin and Lunchbox.Aside from that, they work.

Correct shocks for the Lunchbox and many other Tamiya kits, can be built in several different overall lengths, very clear instructions.

If you have a tamiya cw01 lunchbox or midnight pumpkin, I highly recommend buying 2 pairs of these. They completely change the driving characteristics and in a good way. You do have to assemble the shocks but it is quite easy and includes detailed instructions and lengths for different models. All in all I'd recommend spending the extra money and getting these over chinese ones.

These shocks are excellent!! You can set them up to different lengths depending on your needs. They took longer than I hope to arrive but they were shipped from Japan so it will take some time depending on where you live. One clarification needs to be made, as the description is wrong.CVA is not the type of plastic they're made from. C.V.A is a abbreviation for Constant Volume Adjustment and not a plastic. These work great after a little modification on my end. I only had to modify the bushings bc my RC car wasn't made for nice aftermarket hop-up parts like these. They went together easily, and if you do have any issue with assembly just Google Tamiya CVA shocks assembly and there is a few videos on the subject. You can paint them you just need a Acrylic paint to do so.All in all I love them and I would totally recommend these shocks!!!

This is a great shock kit - easy to assemble, very adjustable, and they work well. I installed 2 of these kits (1 for front, 1 for rear) on my Tamiya Lunchbox with no issues at all.

My son recently received the metallic Midnight Pumpkin R/C truck. The shocks that come with the truck are just springs and are so soft that they kept rubbing against the body. I assume Tamiya does this to keep the cost down on the truck. We upgraded to all ball bearings and replaced the shocks with oil filled shocks. These oil filled shocks work quite well and provide a lot of support to the truck. The kit comes with different springs and accesories depending on how stiff you want the shock to be. We put the stiffer springs on all four wheels even though they recommend the softer springs. If you want to put the oil filled shock on all four wheels, you need to buy TWO of these kits!In my opinion, if you want your Midnight Pumpkin to work its best, you have to get these shocks.
