Worked good. Used it on a plaster mold to place a name. The letters released very clean, which is what I needed.

I like these punches and they're handy to have around. They're sturdy and made of solid brass and are well formed. The set is a complete A-Z alphabet. Unfortunately I comment on how they perform on leather as I bought them to make impressions in resin. I will say that they work quite well for that. If you're thinkingof using them to impress resin, clay or some other soft material be certain to use a light pressure or else you'll end up with a square border around the character from the base of the punch. I wouldn't't recommend using them on wood or a very hard surface or with an aggressive hammer.

All in all, this product works. There are some glaring oversights in design that you have to watch out for when using it. The main one being that not all the letter are equally spaced from their borders! You have to get your eye down close to watch where the letter contacts the leather in order to ensure it is lined up with the other lettering. I botched several items from the "E" being spaced differently on its stamp. It's annoying, but still functions if you're wary.

Although the set is adequate, the set was advertised to come with numbers. Only the alphabet was included in set.

Look it is a poor craftsman that blames his tools. These are nice easy to read letters. Practice on a scrap piece of leather first. You need to gauge how hard you need to swing the hammer. Prepare your surface. I have an oak table, Overlaid with 6 " x 18" piece of sheet steel, 14 gauge. Picked up at the hardware or Lowes, Home Depot etc. Than just a crap of hard wood. Lay the leather crap on this bed and pound away. when you hit just the right depth and impression that you want on your leather, you will know how hard you need to swing to give the desired result. These are not the fanciest, but quality at a low price. I like them, and did every thing I wanted them for.

The item is great, I recommend using fire to heat the tip so it stamps easier, deeper, and lasts. Great for leather.
