From the Manufacturer
The best tea for your teapot. If you enjoy your tea made properly in a teapot, you'll really appreciate the lovely rich taste of Yorkshire tea. Our tea tasters sample hundreds of teas every week to find the one that give Yorkshire tea its rich, satisfying taste, and we are happy to pay that little bit extra for the pick of the crop. We also take the time and trouble to blend our tea so suit your water, whether it's hard or soft.

Loose Leaf Lipton's Is The Best Tea, But Nobody Stocks It Anymore, Which Puts A REAL Pinch On Being Able To Brew A Pot. This Tea Is A Nice-Tasting Alternative, And It's Easily Available. I Highly Recommend It. 5 Stars.

I wanted loose leaf tea for my ice tea maker. This looked like instant coffee grounds. I should have read the reviews and I wouldn't have purchased this tea. The flavor was ok , a little goes a long way bc it's very concentrated.

Three tablespoons in a large metal tea strainer to two quarts of water. Easier and more economical than tea bags.

Why wife is from North Yorkshire and insists on Taylors of Harrogate for her tea. Most important!

I consider black tea strong when I need a level teaspoon. Because these tea leaves are granular, I used a level teaspoon. Then I steeped the tea for 5 minutes like usual. The tea was so bitter, but I tried it again on another day. I’m so glad that I did! The second time I made this tea, I used a level teaspoon once again but steeped it for 3 minutes instead of 5 minutes. It was wonderful! I would not steep it for more than 3 minutes.

Of the varieties of "red" teas, my favorite is Brooke Bond, but Amazon and Walmart now only sell it through 3rd parties at a big markup. This makes Yorkshire Red the best deal in reliably bold loose tea that can be mail ordered. The foil pack keeps the tea fresh fairly well, so it's drinkable even after the expiration date, so I tend to stock up when it's available.I tend to mix in a tiny amount of Lapsang Souchong tea into each pot, just a half teaspoon to add a nice smoky aroma. We brew tea very strong, drink it with plenty of milk and sweetener (the kids like gulab syrup sweetened tea, I use sucralose).I'm drinking a bold cup right now, and all the kids agree, it's a good cuppa, reliable but not excellent.

I really like this tea. It has a special flavor to it which makes it distinctive. In reading another review below, the reviewer wrote that it tasted fishy to her and I would have to disagree. Either that's how she interprets its flavor or I would suggest that she received a stale or mishandled bag. I do like the red bag better than the Yorkshire Gold although that's really a personal taste. I've been drinking it for more than eight years now and liked Yorkshire tea so much that I've bought their teapot and silkscreened mug directly from the UK. The only other tea I've had that comes somewhat close is the Indian brand Wagh Bakri. The vast majority of British tea drinkers will drink their tea hot with milk enough to balance the tannins which I think is essential to British tea although a small percentage will drink it with lemon instead of milk. I rarely have leftover but if I do, when it is cold I'll cut it with some water and lemon juice is lovely with it. I recommend a fresh bag, kept tightly wrapped especially in warmer humid climates. The current price that I've bought here of Yorkshire is a real deal considering the price I have paid for it in the past elsewhere and it is still well within the sell by date.Yorkshire tea is blended and sold in the city of Harrogate, well within the historic boundaries of Yorkshire. My love of this tea had me adopt Harrogate as part of my name as a reviewer, if that lets you know of my regard for this tea and the other teas available from the same people. Cheers!

Below my expectations. It is flat taste CTC tea. On the packet its written leaf tea which misguided me to buy this tea. There's no leaf tea inside. Colour is too strong.
